OOOPS. Accidently called a 1-900 number OOOPS! Today I bought an I-Pass for DH's van. (This is a little box that will automatically pay the tolls on the toll roads in Chicago area. They just doubled the tolls for all people without an I-Pass.) Anyway, I bought the box at the grocery store (The Jewel) and it had a 1-800 number to call to activate it. So, tonight I called the number and some sexy sounding man answered. He mumbled the greeting and I didn't think much of it. He asked my name, my PHONE NUMBER, then my credit card #. Well, I gave him my name and my phone number. Then, something did not seem right and I said, "Is this for an I-Pass?" He didn't know what I was talking about. I said, "Is this ###-####?" He said, "I don't know what # you called." Huh??? Then he said, "This is Forever Romance." I thought, oh great! At least I caught it before I gave my credit card ###. I asked him to please remove my name and phone #. Oh geez. I will probably get all sorts of phone calls now. If DH sees a 1-900 number on the bill he will laugh. At least he was sitting by me so he knows it was accidental. Maggie

Re: OOOPS. Accidently called a 1-900 number Maggie, Maggie! I would have died right then and there! Did you know you can block 900 numbers from your phone? Now might be a good time to do that! I'd also call the phone company to make sure that they didn't forward the call to Siberia or somewhere like that and hit you with some mega-charges!!! ![]()

Re: OOOPS. Accidently called a 1-900 number I wonder if I-Pass knows that their number is similar to that 900 number? Surely, tbis is not the type of business they wish to be mistaken for! Hope you have no further problems with "forever romance".

Re: OOOPS. Accidently called a 1-900 number Maggie, don't forget to call your local telephone business office and inform them of the mistake. They will remove all charges from your bill before you even get it. I work for Verizon. I can't tell you how many complaints we get because an Adult Line has the same number as a popular 800 number. Trust me, it is no accident.

Re: OOOPS. Accidently called a 1-900 number Omg, that's hilarious. I can just imagine the conversation, had you not realized your mistake: Maggie: "Yes, I'm calling to activate my husband's thing." Sexy Phone Guy: "I'll bet you are, honey." ![]()
