Grocery lists

Do you use your computer to make up a grocery list or do you just write it down? I'm getting tired of writing the same things every two weeks and DH would like me to write it according to the isles in the store. (yeah, like I can remember that!) I would like to do one on the puter, only I'm not that savy. Then I could just cirle the items we need that week.

Re: Grocery lists

I still write mine out by hand, but before it quit working I had a Visor (similar to Palm Pilot) that had a program on it that easily allowed you to make out a grocery list. Later you just checked boxes of things you needed and it created your current shopping list. You could have up to 15 or so stores with lists. But it broke, so now I'm back to the old-fashioned way.

Re: Grocery lists

I type it up and email it to my DH as needed so he can pick it up on his way home from work.

Re: Grocery lists

I used to have a list (by aisle ) of grocery items that I kept on the fridge, so anyone could circle when we were running low or ran out. Yeah right. It never worked, then my computer died and I lost the list, so now I just do it by hand. I've started using 4x6 cards (since I already use them for me WDW planning in my Passporter ), b/c they are sturdier, easier to cross off at the store, and less likely to be lost.

Re: Grocery lists

I write out my shopping listing by hand. It seems like too much work to do it on the computer.

Re: Grocery lists

I use coupons. I arrange them by aisle, then put them in an envelope. I write the stuff we need that I don't usually get and I don't have a coupon for on the envelope.

Get to store - take coupons out, start around store, put un-able to use coupons in purse, able to use ones in envelope. At end, hand envelope to cashier. She rolls eyes and rings me and my 2 FULL carts out (I only do this about every 6 weeks) I pay about 50% of what the sub total is!

Re: Grocery lists

I just write it down. I tried the whole computer thing, usually did while at work and always forgot to print it.

Re: Grocery lists

My local store has a web site with a spot to make a list, I use it if I need a lot of groceries.

Re: Grocery lists

I usually plan my menu's for the week then make the grocery list....I always try to organize mine by the layout of the store...........seems easier to me.
