| We have new students! We apparently will be having two new kids at our school tomorrow from the Hurricane! I had to stop over today to pick up papers for youngest DD who will be in pre-k and while outside talking to someone a woman stopped me and said she was looking for a certain teacher that there were two kids that are going to be attending our school. I don't know what grade they are in or how old they are. I am glad that we can help out. The only peeve that I have about this whole thing (besides it taking so long for our wonderful government to help) is they aren't refugees. I wish they would stop being referred to as that. |

| Re: We have new students! Gina, they really are refugees. That term refers to anyone who 'seeks refuge'. It's not a bad thing.  It's wonderful that your school can find a place for the students. |

| Re: We have new students! I just saw a blurb on the news that the district I live in (not the one I work in) registered 40 students from the Hurricane today. A plane landed yesterday in Charlotte and they are keeping people in the colliseum. They are also asking for people that have room and can take in refugees in their homes.       |
