I just KNEW when I read the subject this was going to be about that special day in your life!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that photo of you 3 together( you, Ryan & Shawn) ... was that your first hug with Ryan? what joy on Shawn's face  ... I have a very similar pure joy smile picture of Jim from the moment he walked into the labor & delivery family waiting room to tell everyone Jamie had arrived..
My Jamie's first birthday party invitation read "One year ago, our lives were changed forever" & boy doesn't that apply to you guys as well~ Happy Anniversary!!         |

Thanks everyone!! Let me see if I can remember the questions you asked:
Yes, we do keep in touch with the other couples via e-mail. One couple relocated to Seattle and the other lives about 45 minutes away. We were very lucky, both of the other babies Ryan traveled with were very sick not long after that day.  Thank goodness they are both doing well now!
Yes, that photo was taken the second after they handed Ryan to me. Ryan went right to us and just patted our faces. He was so happy right from the first moment! Ok, that changed at about 2 am due to jet lag and his first tooth but the laid back attitude he had that first night remains to this day.
We call it "Gotcha Day"! We also have "Adoption Day" which is May 14, the day Ryan's adoption was finalized and we became a forever family. | |
