Glow Stick Snacks! I'm still shaking my head over this one! Today, one of my student's ate the fluid inside of a glow stick while in her science class. The school nurse called poison control and they said it is a non-toxic chemical & not to worry, but seriously, who would eat that stuff?!?! Oh, and I forgot to mention, she's 13!!

Re: Glow Stick Snacks! As soon as you said one of your student's it didn't surprise me. Everyday in my class my kids have me wondering about them.

Re: Glow Stick Snacks! Glad to hear she wasn't injured Dyan DS chewed on one when we were in Disney last year (and we weren't paying attention) and got some in his mouth, but he was 3, not 13

Re: Glow Stick Snacks! Traveling back from Salem in early Oct, my friend had some glo-sticks in her carry on from a party we went to. One of them busted open and set off the alarms as we went thru security. They opened every bag she had. She was miffed, but for the rest of us, it was funny to watch.

Re: Glow Stick Snacks! EW!!!! Now, I have had one break and got the stuff on my fingers and then somehow tasted it (no, I did NOT do it on purpose!) and that stuff is NASTY!!! My sister has a student (3rd grade) with an eating disorder called Pica . . . he has recently eaten the vinyl stuff from the outside of a 10 pound dumbell, ink pens (minus the ink), pencils . . . he stole my sister's favorite pen from her desk and started eating that, also ate a fake flower from the top of another one of Tina's pens . . . his parents said he has been eating their TV remote control at home too!!! Pica is defined as an eating disorder where you consume non-nutritive items . . . Maybe that girl has that . . . or maybe she's just weird. But that is gross!
