I meant to post about this but in my busy February I just forgot! For Valentine's Day (the weekend after) Andy got us a room at the Dunhill hotel in uptown Charlotte. After dinner out we came back and enjoyed some drinks at the bar... well our bartender was great! He's a starvin' artist and shared some of his work with us. We plan on going to his show this August. Anyhoo, we were talking to him and this other couple at the bar. The other couple (the man) is Robby Gordon's fabricator for you race fans. So after chatting for a bit, the bartender, David, offered to show us the penthouse suite... Well this penthouse is where Paul McCartney stayed when he played in Charlotte back in the 90's. With Andy being the HUGE Beatles fan he is, he almost crapped his pants being where Paul was [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/rofl2.gif[/img]
So I thought I'd share some pictures and say I got to see where Sir Paul slept and hung out...

Another of the room. The rooms are very small, as there used to be a different number rooms way back in the day. The building was actually used as apartments for awhile many years ago. 
We were right next door to The Discovery Place which is hosting the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was sold out that night (opening night) but we plan on going to see them soon. 
And some of the Charlotte skyline from our room.

That's awesome! My Aunt is the biggest Beetle's fan ever. I'm not a big fan, but when Paul was on SNL a few years ago (in the early 90s) she got to sit on the bench of his piano with him as he rehearsed, and she cried HYSTERICALLY the ENTIRE time! I was too young at the time to know what was going on, but we have it on tape and my cousins and I watch it and just crack up [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img]
