Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I would have said something but that is just me. I also would have taken down his name and written a letter to Disney. There is NO reason a CM should talk that way ON STAGE. If they want to b*tch about guests they can do it backstage...we all need to vent alittle but don't do it with in earshot of guests!

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I agree that you had a right to be upset, but the time to do something about it was right at that moment or immediately when you got home. Now..well, as Rafiki said in Lion King, "It doesn't matter! It's in the past!"

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I don't think I would have said anything either. BUT, I wouldn't let it keep bothering me more than a year later. You guys should have been able to get a bus, and he should have been helpful instead of surly, but you got the opposite. The way he acted was his problem NOT YOURS and it wasn't about YOU, it was about how he was feeling about being at that park that day. Don't let it get you down.

I've had a really bad experience with a CM before too....she made me cry even.....but I don't dwell on it. It hurt me then for a while, but I realize she had a problem that I couldn't overcome at the time. I didn't get her name and write in about her either. I just let it go.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

if it was really no egging on your part, i'd personally feel sorry for a CM who felt the need to carry that baggage for 90 minutes to complain to someone else. i think that'd be enough. considering what that CM must go through every day anyway.

Welcome to the boards Beth Maybe it helped you to get your feelings out here. And maybe that CM was having a really bad day and felt bad later for doing that.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I am sorry that happen to you. You should have done some thing (written a letter) when you got home. I hope you will not let that stop you from going to WDW. Sometimes bad things happen, but for the most part the CM are great. Also welcome the the boards.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

You need to compartmentalize.

Put that one 20-second bad experience into its own little mental compartment, away from the rest of the week-long Disney honeymoon you had, and focus on the good things that happened. Obsessing over one tiny bad experience to the point of ruining the rest fo your honeymoon memories is crazy.

Next time you hear a CM talking that way on stage, you should get their name and report them to the nearest manager you can find. In the case you mentioned, since you were in a rush and didn't have time, you should have written a letter or email to WDW Guest Relations with the specifics of the incident within a week or so of getting home. As Robin said, there is no excuse for any CM to behave in such a fashion on stage, particularly within easy earshot of so many Guests.

I'm really sorry you had such a bad experience. I'm also glad you felt comfortable enough here to tell us about it. Please don't let it totally spoil all of Disney World for you. Remember all the wonderful times you had and let the bad times fade away.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I too am sorry you had this happen to you.

This is just me but I would have stood up and asked that person's name and told them that if their dumb enough to do that where guests can hear them, then do it to their face.

I would have then sent an e-mail or letter when we got home. However that is just me. I wouldn't then let that experience ruin my day or my trip. It's also like going to a retail store and getting a bad checker. Would that stop you from going back for groceries...Heck no.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

Absolutely don't let that one person ruin your memories of WDW. I can guarantee that CM does not remember the incident in the least, and you are only hurting yourself by not letting it go and just forgetting about it.

Look back at your pictures; remember the happy times there.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

I am sorry that happened, and it would bug me too. I had a couple of cranky-making experiences on our trip last month, and while my dh almost always speaks up, me, I had to vent about it here to feel better! I hope you feel better knowing that others agree that the CM was behaving badly, and I hope that helps you put it behind you, knowing that the next time you won't leave it at that.

And yeah, I couldn't help but think, what a crappy day that CM must have been having--but it still wasn't right to take it out on you.

Re: Rude Cast Member-What would you have done?

Ugh. Sorry that happened to you. I agree with some of the others, it would have been best to let WDW know of the situation when it happened. There is no reason a Cast Member should behave that way on stage.

Don't let it deter you from going back to WDW! When I was on my Keys to the Kingdom tour two years ago, our guide told us that only 15-20% of the 55,000+ CMs that work at WDW are cranky. When you run into one, it ruins the moment, but the other CMs on your trip should make up for that!

Welcome to the boards!
