Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

What is your favorite Disney THRILL ride - the crowning achievement of thrills Disney style that does it for you!?!?

I'm going with Tower of Terror. While I think Rock-n-Roller Coaster provides a greater thrill the sheer theming of TOT gives the rider the whole package!

How about that queue meandering in the mist in the courtyard with that old music playing....entering that lobby that hasn't had any disturbance since everyone evacuated after "the event"...the library where we discover the horror of what happened so long ago...and then entering the boiler room where the machines creek and groan almost in a foreboding manner...securing yourself into one of the elevator shafts preparing to enter The Twilight Zone...and that final anticipation of "will we drop now!?!?" and then - WHOOSH!!! Gosh, I just love it!

Holy smokes, I'm just about ready to hop in the car and go right now just to ride it!

Re: Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

That is a tough one. I would have to agree with you that TOT has amazing theming-I love it. But I would have to go with Rock 'N' Roller Coaster (I think ). Both amazing rides.

TOT must have the biggest thrils, because DH says he will never get back on it again. R&R is still okay in his book.

RnRC is my favorite! If Splash Mtn. would count as a thrill ride, I would vote for it, as I think it has the best theming and story line at WDW.

Re: Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

My 2 oldest DD's and my vote goes to Rock N Roller Coaster.

When we were at MGM last month, RnRC was down the entire morning we were there and then we left to go to Epcot for the afternoon and evening. In the car on the way to Epcot my 7 yo DD declared she was not leaving WDW until she rode RnRc, so we were back the next night for her to do just that!

DH loves RnRC too, but votes for for ToT.

Re: Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

Dinosaur is pretty thrilling to! Even though I know that Dino is coming, nothing can scare me quicker than that HUGE AA dino leering down and looking like it's gonna chomp me, a la Jurassic Park.

I love RnR, and I agree that ToT is pretty thrilling (but I can't vote for ToT because it's so thrilling I refuse to ride it! Thus, it's not my favorite)

But, I think I have to go Old School on everyone and say that Space Mountain is the best. I have the most fun, I always think my head is going to get cut off by the track above me, and there are chocolate chip-looking astroids, audio-animatronic astronauts, two different tracks, a ride within a ride (TTA) and a great exit line. Can you really beat that? So, Space Mountain is my fav, because you can't beat its Old School charms and thrills!

Re: Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

I like RnR the best follewed closely by ToT. Aren't we lucky that they are so near each other. So we can hope off one and right on the other.

Re: Favorite Disney Thrill Ride

I'm not a thrill ride junkie so I'd have to go with Splash Mountain. If you asked DH though, it would be a toss up between RNR and TOT.
