very similar to Universe of Energy. slow ride, cast members do some skits and schtick. very appealing to the "older" generation of movie fans. no risk at all of getting woozy !

I love the GMR! It's exactly the same sort of "car" that drives you around during Ellen. It takes you through famous scenes from movies like Singin' in the Rain, the Wizard of Oz, Alien, and Indiana Jones. Your driver also tells you trivia about these movies and, for the sake of not trying to ruin the magic for you, also gets involved in the "show".
It really is a lot of fun.
Speaking of the scene from Alien.... I have heard there are two different "versions" of this ride that are just slightly different from each other. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? This past trip, the Alien scene seemed different to me for reasons I won't go into so I don't spoil it for anyone. Is this scene the same in both versions, or am I right to think it seemed different this time??

I agree. I hadn't heard anything about 2 different versions, but I do think that it was less "intense" the past two times we've ridden it (Aug 2006 + Mar 2007) than previously trips.

Hehe. Actually, this past time is was more intense than the previous two trips! That's funny. I'll be interested to see if anyone else noticed a difference. From what I understood the difference in rides has nothing to do with that scene, but I swear it was different.
There's a cowboy version and a gangster version. They sometimes only run the gangster one and then run the cowboy one if it's really busy. I think if you stay to the left when the queue splits you get the cowboy ( I can't really remember ) That's the only difference
Yeah, that's what I had heard Suzie. Hmmm... but ... maybe... hm, maybe depending on the timing of when your vehicle enters the Alien scene you see different things in different places??
most of the time in the off season, they're running only B cars. the cars are doubled up, so while you might be experiencing the gangster routine, the A car is in the next room getting the western scene.
i've only ridden B and i do think i've noticed differences when I've ridden them in the event of something popping into view but i don't think it's a clear issue as to when it does or doesn't happen. although that said, i've also managed to be at both ends of the wizard of oz room.
then again, the good rides always were with tourguide ashley.. i miss her so

OH!
I didn't know there was a cowboy ride. We've only seen the gangster one. Of course, every time we've ridden, it's been during "off" hours, so that may explain it.
