The kids & I have always done 1 backpack, 3 people. Next year I am making the kids bring their own bags. I am tired of hauling around thier camera's, ipods, DS's, wallet, book, rainponch & waterbottle. They will be 17.
Wow. If I were the parent of teenaged boys ... well, first off, I'd've probably hung myself or gone insane, hahahah ... but, as soon as they hit 12 or 13, they'd've been carrying their own stuff THEN.
Plus, when I was 13, I would've wanted to be carrying my own camera and such, anyway.

I'm hoping we can get away with just one bag for DH, DD, and I this trip. I tend to overpack her Diaper bag for trips now but I will try not too. I will re-evaluate each night though and take stuff we don't need out. The bottles may be a space hog though We are bringing a messenger style diaper bag since it hooks on the handles of the stroller for easy access while walking.
