Thirteen total family trips with stays at the Poly, AKL, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Swan, Dolphin, POFQ, Pop Century, All Star Music, Movies & Sports, and Coronado Springs.
Not a bad article, but it left out a lot of common free stuff:
* Maps for all the parks and resorts are free for the asking
* On check in at any WDW resort, you are given a packet of info about WDW that makes a nice keepsake
* Napkins from the eateries (the unused ones, of course)
* Bags from the souvenier shops (included with any purchase)
* Your park passes are one of the best keepsakes
* Parking passes from the parks or resorts, if you have a car
* WDW resort room keys
* Photopass cards
They also did not say anything about some of kids' meal plates. They are often in the shape of a Mickey head and can easily be washed out for use at home.
Also some of the alcoholic drinks do come with souvenir cups that you can take home.

In six trips to WDW and more kids meals than I can count, we've never gotten one of these.
