Something new we tried last trip and absolutely loved - we bought candies in each country in World Showcase! It was so much fun to find them and we loved bringing them home to share with friends and family. Japan was our favorite place to buy - they had tons - and the chocolates in Italy were wonderful. I know this is food - not really keepsakes but I'm still enjoying a little treat from the countries from my desk drawer!
I love my Disney bag (teacher!) that I carry to school every day. At home, I love the throws that we've gotten at Disney. But I do love my pics most of all. Happy memories are the best!
Location: A little over 1000 miles from my happy place!

I have a snowglobe for every year we've been to Disney. I love looking at them, shaking them to see the "snow" or glitter, I have one that plays Its a Small World. Gives me a little piece of the magic whenever I feel homesick for Disney. I also get a new coffe mug for work and a few pens, and a magnet for the fridge. Best shopping is DtD of course!
On my last trip, I found a plastic glass about 6 inches tall that I'm loving. It's perfect for my morning juice. I'm going to look for another one or 2 on my upcoming trip. I found it in the Emporium at MK.
I have a fan that I got in Japan and they put my name on it in Japenese. I've used it alot since it get so hot in Georgia. I also love the Haunted mansion playing cards we got one year. There's something fun about playing War with the kids using those cards. Good memories.
I'm going to get chopsticks on our upcoming trip. One for each of us since we eat alot of Chinese food I thought it would be fun to learn how to use chopsticks.
I also always get a pin for the resort we stay at. This trip will be our 2nd to Wildnerness Lodge so I'm hoping they'll have a different pin than the first one I picked up.
After that, it's whatever catches my fancy. I'm thinking maybe a new cookbook. I hate to cook but using a Disney cookbook makes it better somehow. LOL

World Showcase has some great souvenirs if they don't have to be Disney items.
DD has bought "hair chopsticks," origami kits, and necklaces bearing Chinese characters for good luck. Last year she bought Lucky Cats in Japan for her friends. She also has a necklace from Morocco where they wrote her name on it in Arabic. I have a Hummel from the Germany pavilion, but don't know if they sell those anymore.
I tend to go for the really unique items that can only be found at the Disney Parks. My favorite is a bathrobe from the Hollywood Tower Hotel, which if you don't know is the hotel the ride Tower of Terror takes place in.
I am soooo bad - I just love it all!! I especially love the silly hats, like my christmas tree hat from a few years ago. It's adorned with hanging little plush characters (Mickey, etc.), and it lights up!
My brother, sister and I have these same hats and wear them on our Christmas trips. The kids all argue over who is getting them in our wills (it is amazing how humble they are when it comes to these hats)
I surprisingly always "forget" my watch at home and must by a new one everytime I go to Disney
We also collect ornaments from every vacation....great memories!
I usually go for things that I will be happy with years from now and can display in some way. So pins and little baubles are out for me.
In 2005 and 2009 I bought collage photo frames. They hang in my living room, and I still love them! Also we had a silohuette done of DD, this is tradition, and again I love them!
In 2009 we also bought the photo and frame from Splash Mountain, DD first time riding, and I love it!
In 2010, I went on my own with my mom, and I bought a Mickey pocketbook. Loves it!
I love snowglobes and they have a small one every year with the year on it so I can look back and see the different years I've been to my happy place. I also plan to get some CD's this year. I really want a SpectroMagic CD so I can load it onto my Ipod and listen to it any time I want to be in my happy place. I also got a silouette done of my dd around the Hall of Presidents and it was the neatest thing I've ever gotten at WDW. My mom loved her copy so much when we gave it to her for Christmas.
I have to add I also have done the silouette. My DH and I did it on our honeymoon. I also had one done in 1996 with my sister and then apparently there is one of my grandparents for WDW that I am dying to find. I want to have all three and hang them so that I can do the same for my children.
I really loved the resort-specific magnets. I think they are phasing (or have phased) them out for the most part, although they still had them at the poly in January. The are relatively inexpensive, small and I can leave them out on the fridge all the time and not feel like they are contributing to the clutter. We also collect pins and display those in shadow boxes. We also have several of the small-version ride posters framed in our playroom.
I have magnets for the fridge with the year/disney characters - so that I can see them on a daily basis. Also liked getting a portrait of the boys drawn (AK). And my new favorites are the pins.
While I really love my various souvies, there are a select type that are my faves (in no particular order): pins, refillable mugs, flags for our yard, pieces for our under the tree and around the house villages collection, oh and of course the good stuff I buy at Basin!
