HS for a 4 year old?

Is HS a good place for a 4 year old? We want to do the character breakfast and also eat at Mama Melrose's (so we can do the Fantasmic dinner package). However. is there enough to do there for a 4 year old? We'd eat breakfast around 8:15 and then eat at Mama Melrose's at 3:50 (it was the latest time they could give me).

Thanks!

Disney Junior, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Honey I Shrunk the Kid's Playground, Muppets. All of those are 4-yr old friendly. She'd may also like, the Animation film and drawing, Backstage Tour, Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones, Parade. There are a lot of Meet and Greets too, if you guys like those, all over the park. You can fill up a day easily.

OK, thanks! We were planning on doing MK 2x, AK 1x, and HS 1x. The other day, we were not sure what we were going to do. Is Epcot somewhere for a 4 year old? Or not really? I went there 6 years ago but I have no idea if it's something she would like. I looked under the parks descriptions, however, it is always helpful to hear from everyone here.

Don't forget TSMM. It may be difficult for a 4 year old to pull the trigger (or whatever you call it), but my boys have always loved it. I know a lot of people don't care for DHS, but it is one of our favorite parks. My DS is 6 now, but when he was 4, he loved The Little Mermaid (might be a little scary for some 4 year olds), Playhouse Disney, Great Movie Ride, TSMM, meeting all the characters at DHS, and Pizza Planet. He also loved Star Tours and Fantasmic which may both be too much for most 4 year olds. We could easily spend all day at DHS & more.

The important thing is interacting with the kid. There is lots for a little one to do as was just mentioned plus there are street performers and a little water spot and the fire hydrant that squirts water. Boys love the stunt shows. Last time I was at the studios I saw lots of happy kids starting with infants and toddlers. Kids tend to make their own magic.

We went to DHS with DD when she was 2 and when she was 5. She's always enjoyed it.
There's the Beauty and the Beast show, the motorcar show, Indiana Jones, Little Mermaid, Disney Playhouse. Toy Story wasn't there then, but it's great fun. DD loved Fantasmic though I know some kids are scared.
We've also had good luck meeting characters at DHS. And the parade is fun. I think you'll be fine.

OK, thanks again! I am going to keep the reservations at HS (for the character breakfast and Mama Melrose) for now. I am going to start another thread to get opinions on Epcot vs. HS vs. AK.

HS has a lot of shows and from the ages of 2-4, my kids did want to sit down long enough to watch them. My boys were too scared to even walk into the "dark" theaters to see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Muppets, Little Mermaid, etc. (They really aren't that dark, but my kids thought they were.) The shows were also too loud for them at times. We actually skipped HS for several years. I just wanted to give you a warning in case your child is sensitive like mine. We did try HS again on our last trip when the boys were 5 and they enjoyed it much more.

I think there's definitely a lot for a 4 year old to be attracted to at HS. Our boys loved Indiana Jones and The Muppets.

Both of those are still favored attractions even now that they are way older.

As for your Epcot part of the question my answer would be no! the 1st visit I had a 2 year old and a 4 year old and they were so board. They liked it the next time when they were both older.

HS has enough for a 4 year old for a full day.

I am going to say "no" with EPCOT (I know there are alot of EPCOT lovers who will argue with that). There really is not a whole lot to do for younger children (Nemo, The Land, Kimpossible). My kids are older and they "tolerate" EPCOT. They like thrill rides and there are a few to keep them entertained. Otherwise, they just follow along and look bored.

There are great places to eat at EPCOT for sure (and lots to do for older children/teens and adults).

I think Epcot is fine for a 4 year old and actually if you start them young it makes it easier to bring them when they are older. There are good rides in Future world such as; The Seas, Finding Nemo, Turtle talk with Crush, Spaceship Earth, the Living with the Land and Journey into Imagination. The World Showcase is also great because as you visit all the countries your child can do the Kidscot fun stops. Also the World Showcase is one of the best places to see characters. Every country has character spots. I would not rule out a visit to Epcot, there is so much to do.

Our son was 4 for our first visit to the World and we went to every park and had a grand time. Even Soarin' in EPCOT is great or a 4 year old who meets the height requirement and we spent a whole lot of time exploring the Living Seas and the train garden in Germany.

We now have 9 trips under our belt and our son is 9 and we have a hard time choosing between EPCOT and HS as both are favorites, but for different reasons.

Whichever parks you choose, I'm sure you'll have a magical time!

While we did a midday break for a quick swim followed by a nap, HS was lots of fun for my 3.5 and 2 year old. It was actually YDDs birthday the day we were at HS and we'd gotten the birthday button from POFQ when we'd checked in, so she got lots of attention all over the park. We did quite a number of shows, but they loved all of them: Beauty & the Beast, Disney Jr. Live!, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Muppet Vision. We also rode TSMM (got a FP and then jumped in Standby line), Great Movie Ride, and they loved the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area. We were not bored or looking for anything to do at all.

Epcot? Well, to be honest, breakfast at Akershus was the highlight for them I know. They were both too short for Soarin', but we rode Spaceship Earth and probably rode Finding Nemo half a dozen times (or more!) They also liked Figment and the boat ride in the Mexico pavilion. But, we felt like we were having to do a lot of walking (I know, it's Disney, right?) and were trying to find things to keep them entertained in Epcot.
