Well, I wear a brace attached to my shoes, so not much of an option for me. However, they are "aetrex" brand and pretty darn comfy.
For my DDs(3) we usually go with a fairly new pair of "New Balance" shoes, and by fairly new, I don't let them break them in for more then a week or they end up with blisters and heel sores.
The hubby loves his slip on shoes, the cheap ones from Target or WalMart with some GOOD insoles in them.
We tried Crocs once a few years back and the kids all got blisters on the side of their feet where the plastic rivet thingy is. So no more crocs for us.
We don't adhere to certain brands, but alternate between sturdy sandals with straps and not brand new tennis shoes. I have found that if we switch shoes or alternate each day, we are less likely to have sore feet and blisters. We've had shoes "die" on us at Disney and then threw them away before we came home--it left more room in our luggage!
I wear Easy Spirit walking shoes with wool socks, which are way cooler and keep your feet drier than cotton. I always take ones that I have worn for at least several weeks. I also take rubber sandals for the pool. I agree with the poster who said two pairs rotated let your shoes dry out and help avoid blisters and other foot problems. My son wears either heavy men's sandals like Sketchers, or a reasonably new pair of velco-strap shoes from Walmart (he wears out the New Balance ones that cost three times as much just as fast as the cheap ones). My husband rides a scooter, and wears Crocs, because they are the only things that fit him at this point.

On our trip in February to DL, I bought a pair of Klogs to wear around Coronado Island, and brought my tennis shoes for Disney. I found I preferred the Klogs so much more and wore them the entire trip. Not sure what I'll wear if we go during a warmer season, but my feet were so happy. I have plantar faciitis in both feet and was so surprised by how little my feet hurt after the trip.
I've worn Reebok zig tech and got blisters. I've worn Asics and got blisters. This year I'm wearing Chacos sandals which are very comfy and just makes you walk better. If I NEED sneakers - I will have a pair of Asics or Reebok just in case.
For me I have found sketchers work the best, but being an old military fart I learned to rotate shoes daily. It really does cut down on blisters.
Me too! I swear by my Sketchers Shape-Ups Sneakers and my Tone-Up Electric Slide sandals. They are absolutely the most comfortable shoes EVER. No blisters, no achy sore feet.
They are like walking on a cushy pillow all day. After 10 days at Disney, MY FEET were the only ones that did not hurt. Everyone else in our group complained how their feet hurt and mine were just fine! And that's taking into consideration I had shattered my right foot only a couple years ago (25+ fractures and a torn tendon).
They have great arch support. Granted they aren't 'cute' like those silly flip flops with the sparkles and gems on them, but they are still nice looking. I won't wear anything else at Disney.
Sketchers are fantastic! Tend to leave my feet less tired, which is obviously a huge plus. Last time we were there I wore Travel Walker II sneakers by Propet. They're super soft with light support. Very comfortable and breathable. Good luck!
I wore my fitflops the whole time on our last trip. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and for whatever reason fitflops don't hurt my feet at all. I'm still bummed I couldn't find any mickey ones when I was there to replace my worn out ones. Bummer!
I swear by Teva flip flops as they have arch support and are very comfy. I also will be bringing down a pair of my dd's Under Armour sneakers which are fairly light and very comfy too although I might go out and look for some kind of gel insole with arch support for some added comfort
My Crocs Athens flip flops are the ONLY shoes I've worn that have not given me blisters. I ALWAYS get blisters on the bottom of my toes when I wear sneakers in Disney -even though those same shoes DON'T give me blisters at home . Must have something to do with all the extra walking plus the heat. I would bring a couple of options and see what works best for you. Rotating is also good.
I always pack too many shoes. Maybe this is why I prefer to drive then to fly. But I have a variety of flip flops, sandals and tennis shoes. Some of my most comfy shoes are crocs and not the original ugly looking ones. I have a pair of Croc Trailblazers, they are kind of like a Teva sandal and really comfy!
thanks for the posts everyone, i think i will take my okabashi flip flops, and i have a pr of skeechers shapeups, or maybe 1 pr of another tennis shoe!!! thanks for the suggestions!!!
