| We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. I'm in packing mode (or at least need to be) -
This is what we are thinking of taking into the parks:
Brita water bottle
Sunscreen
Camera w/extra film and batteries
Park information as needed
Tickets, money, etc
What am I missing?
Also, how do you manage your clothing this time of year? When we go into the parks it will be chilly but by mid-afternoon it looks like it will get up to 70 or 75. We most likely won't be going back to the hotel.
Do you bring a change of clothes with you?
Thanks for any assistance or help! |

Your list sounds great. I carry my camera, cigarette pouch(chapstick, nail clippers, change),film, baby wipes, tylenol, ponchos, and sometimes cracker snacks. All this in a bright yellow backpack.
Never having been down there when you needed layers of clothing, I can't really help, except maybe tying your sweatshirts/jackets around your waist instead of carrying them.

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. I layer my clothing. I would wear a t-shirt under a sweatshirt and then a windbreaker on top of that and just take off layers when I got warm and tied them around my waist.
I usually bring a drawstring bag ( similar to this one: http://www.modells.com/product/index...ntPage=family) with me to the parks filled with my wallet, camera, extra film, chapstick, sunblock, and a snack. |

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. We're leaving then too!!! I'm so excited! This is our 5th trip in early Feb. The weather can be very warm or very cool. The first time we went, we expected warm weather and didn't bring any long pants (except the ones we wore) and only 1 sweatshirt a piece. It turned out it was very unusually cold, rainy and windy. Alot of days were in the upper 40's but with the rain and wind it was cold. (we had a wonderful time though!! ) We got smarter after that trip and now I always pack enough to dress either way (warm or cool) for every day (and actually we have never encountered weather like that again). It is usually cool in the mornings and we wear shorts, T-shirt and a sweat shirt or polar fleece top. You might be a little cool first thing but by middle of the day, you'll be pulling off your sweatshirt--but you'll be glad you have it when the sun goes down. One year we actually saw days into the 90's. But 70's has seemed more typical--Its a beautiful time of year to go both weather-wise and crowds-wise!! Hope I'm not jinxing myself!! HaHa |

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. To that list I also have in my fanny pack:
rain ponchos (picked up some clear ones for like $1 each at the sports department in Wal-Mart),
light sticks (also the sports department in Wal-Mart $2.98 for 2),
a mini flashlight,
a couple of bandaids,
travel bottle of Extra-Strength Tylenol,
chewable Pepto (covers so many things, just in case... hate to be stuck in the bathroom at Disney! lol!)
travel can of anti-bacterial hand stuff (in case we grab a bite on the way and there is no water in site).
Ohhh!!! And a plastic baggie for my camera to keep it from getting wet on the water rides! |

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. Thanks, everyone. I am sooooo excited. It is fun seeing some of you who are leaving Saturday, too. It is funny because I wish there was a way to meet those of you who are going to WDW when we are there. Everyone is just so nice and willing to share. Have a great trip! |

I second adding the antibacterial wipes and/or gel to your backpack. Another thing we used often was the moleskin. Also, we like gum.
Have a GREAT time! I'll bet you're about to burst. |

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. We are staying as ASmo. I am starting to be very excited. I am trying not to burst as then packing would be most difficult. I found the moleskin last night at Target - had never heard of it before this board.
I actually had decided not to look for it , but there it was and all the moleskin supporters here convinced me that I should bring it.
I am going to miss planning the trip. My DH asked me what I would do with all my free time when we get back from Disney. |

You will write a trip report, of course. They take up lots of time to write and you get to relive every moment of your trip and people tell you how great you are. It's very therapeutic. |

We are flying out of Chicago. I found us RT airfare (direct) from O'hare to Orlando for $145 a piece. My in-laws live outside of Chicago and it is a 2 hour drive from Madison. Plus, my DFIL will drive us to the airport Saturday morning so we don't have to pay to park the car. We looked at driving but the airfare was too good to pass up. |

| Re: We leave in 3 days. A few park touring questions. I second the plastic bag for your camera. You wouldn't want to get it wet and ruin the camera and the pic inside it! I also carry a few of those disposable towelettes (I got a big box from Walgreens for a few dollars). They are great after a Mickey Bar or other small snack that gets your hands dirty, but you don't need to go find a bathroom just to wash your hands.
You might consider adding a pocket-size notebook and mechanical pencil to your list. Not only can you write down all your PS numbers and times in it, but I also use it to make trip notes, which are later used in writing a full-on trip report. You can't imagine how much those notes bring back the memories from previous trips, sharp and clear, even years later. I have more fun looking over my own notes than I do reading other peoples' trip reports! |
