Haunted Mansion - The Wedding Ring??

I was reading someone's Travel Report on another site and they mentioned looking for "a wedding ring by the gates" when they were exiting. Does anyone know what this person is talking about? Can someone explain this to me?? Thanks!

Re: Haunted Mansion - The Wedding Ring??

The "unofficial" story of the Haunted Mansion at WDW includes in some form, a wedding ring that was in fury thrown by a jilted lover into the ground on a fateful and fatal wedding day. The "ring" can be found in the cement outside the exit to the ride, I believe at the very end of the canopy walkway. Of course, it's actually something other than what it looks like (if you look around the area, you'll pick up on what it really is), but it's a really cool tradition!

Well, what is it? I never could figure it out! Send me a PM if you don't want to tell everyone, but I want to know! Maybe I'm a ding dong!

You can have a CM show you if you can't find it. I was looking for something that looked like a ring, and it only sort of looks like a ring. It's really hard to spot!

Re: Haunted Mansion - The Wedding Ring??

It's on the right hand side by the last pole of the canopy.

On our tour we were told that there were these ring things in the ground (two of them) that held something in the ground. They only managed to remove the one, and they kept trying so decided to use a screwdriver to try and remove the metal, but the head broke off and now it looks like a setting to the ring.

That's cool information to have. I can't wait to go back and see it in October. I hope I find it.

If you want to learn even more neat information like that, take the Keys To The Kingdom Tour. My mom and I did that last year, and it was very interesting. They will show you things that you never noticed before, and all of the detail that goes into the Magic Kingdom. I highly recommend it

Re: Haunted Mansion - The Wedding Ring??

I finally found it on our trip in July. I was getting frustrated because it wasn't easy to find. If you can't find it i suggest asking one of the CM's that works there to show you where it is.

How in the world did you find a thread that hasn't been posted to in 8 1/2 years?

This is an old thread (from 2004!) and I don't believe that this is there any longer.

Actually, it was never there. An old Disney myth. The ring is from a pole that used to be there. They removed the pole, but had trouble with the "ring" set in cement, so just left it. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

I don't know that it was never there but I thought I had read somewhere that during one of the recents refurbs to the HM (maybe removing the FP stuff), the area where it would have been was redone so even if it had been there at one point in time, it was completely gone after that.
