| I was in the Hot Seat!!! Just got back from a short trip to MGM. Our first stop was Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Play It! My boyfriend and I followed the tips for pushing the buttons while playing along, and had quite the success. The first guy in the hot seat got up to the 1,000 point mark and they showed the leader board. I was in first place and my boyfriend was in sixth. Soon after, they looked for someone new once the guy lost. My boyfriend was in second place, there came a pause, and my seat was listed as number one! It was so exciting and I was extremely nervous.
It took them a few tries before finally pronouncing my name correctly, and the game began. I was worried that I'd look like an idiot and get a small point question wrong, but I felt better once I made it to the first 1,000 point plateau. At 4,000 points I had to ask the audience about what sport Dan Jansen won an Olympic medal in. Then at 16,000 points I got stuck. The question was "Montmartre is a section of what European city?" The choices were: Lisbon, Paris, Marseilles, and Bordeaux. I phoned a complete stranger and got some kid who asked me to repeat the question 4 times! I asked her to ask someone nearby, but she took too long and my lifeline was wasted. I used 50:50 and narrowed it down to Marseilles and Paris. In the last 2 seconds of the timer I picked Marseilles and sadly got it wrong. I should have gone with my gut instinct but oh well. I now feel like I'll never forget that the answer to that question. Paris, it's Paris!!!! LOL.
After the game ended they took me backstage where I signed the waiver and collected my 5 pin set, hat, and lanyard. This whole experience really made my day and it was an experience I'll never forget! It was the most fun I've had at Disney in forever! (Not to say I don't always have fun when I visit though)
I can't wait to get back in the hot seat. I'm just mad that I have to wait 30 days, lol. I'm taking my sister to Disney this Sunday and I plan on trying to get her down there. Meryn |

| Re: I was in the Hot Seat!!! Oooh, speed skating is my husband's favorite Winter Olympics sport! And I that section of Paris (well, I hear it's gotten very touristy, but it was lovely 15 years ago!
Congrats on getting to the hot seat. I've been on the leader board several times, but never made it there. I think I'd pee my pants if it ever happened.

| Re: I was in the Hot Seat!!! That is really neat! I've been number 1 on the board once...but it was the end of the session...so no Hot Seat for me. I'm jealous!
I wish I had been your phone-a-stranger....I would have gotten it for you.
Glad you had fun! -HiddenMickey |

| Re: I was in the Hot Seat!!! That's great! Isn't it awesome? I was in the Hot Seat in August and choked on the 32,000 point question.... I really would have liked to have won the polo shirt, but I still love my cap and pins. |

| Re: I was in the Hot Seat!!! Congratulations Meryn! It sounds like a wonderful experience. I've never managed to even make it on to the leader board yet so I doubt I'll ever make it into the hot seat myself but I imagine that it must be a very thrilling event.
