| Crowds in the summer?? Hey! The last time I was in Disney was in March, 2001 during Spring Break on my JHS Senior Trip. We didn't have a problem with crowds or anything, and were able to get on a lot of attractions. Our first trip was in August, 1992. It was hot and crowded, but I don't remember it being unbearable. I don't remembr much, I was 5 lmao, but from what my mom and dad tell me the heat was worse than the crowds. This July we will be in Orlando and I know it will be crowded, but are the crowds really THAT bad?!! |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? From June to Mid-August, the crowds are heavy. The only busier times of the year are Easter Week and Christmas Week.
We were there for July 4th week in 1998, and it was super hot (the wildfires were burning), and quite crowded, plus Brazilian tour groups were all over the place. As long as you use a touring plan and FastPass, you'll be able to see most of what you want. |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? We were there over the 4th of July 2001 and it was hot as all get out. The crowds were wicked and those Brazilian tour groups were all over the place then. If you have never encountered one of these tour groups, it is about 20 some people following a brazilian tour guide hold a big sign in the air. They move in a herd and their customs don't include such polites gestures as waiting in line so if you are in their way they will run you over or move you. |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? I was there June, July and August last year and by far the worst was August.
Like Crystalloubear said, the foreign tour groups can be BRUTAL. Stroller commandos have nothing on these people! You quickly learned to spot them coming and head the other way.
Heat wise, August was the hottest and most humid. We had more afternoon rain in June that we did in July.
Take advantage of the early mornings / late evening hours - head back for a swim and a rest during the day. I always said I'd never go to WDW in the summer and I went three times last year - and survived! |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? I have been there twice in the summer- August 2001 and July 2004 and agree that the heat was worse than the crowds. Arrive early in the day, have a plan about what you want to do and make as much use of Fastpass as possible. |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? Thanks for the advice. We have 4 days at the MK, 3 at Epcot, 2 at MGM and 1 at Animal Kingdom so I'm pretty sure our MK and Epcot days will be split (tour in the morning, relax in the afternoon, go back at night). 1 day at MGM will be split andthen one da will be a full day, as will our day at AK. I'm sure we'll survive, I just want to make sure we get to see what we want! Thanks again! |

| Re: Crowds in the summer?? Melissa,
We have been at WDW during some of the largest crowds and some of the smallest crowds and had nothing but total fun the whole time.
Just have a plan in mind but be prepared to be flexible so you can go with the flow. This way when everyone rushes into the MK and dashes for Space Mountain, you go to Adventureland and Frontierland and explore there nearly by yourself. Then leave and go rest up. Then when everyone else is dropping due to exhaustion and the heat, you come back refreshed and ready to enjoy the other half of the park.
When I read this strategy on these boards, I didn't believe it, but having tried it, I know it works. It did just 3 days before Christmas to prove it.
The main thing is to go with the attitude that no matter what you are going to have fun and not be a commando. You will have a great time and actually appreciate the cool little things you would miss if you were racing around. |
