Possible stupid question

If a code comes out for the general public can I book my room with that and then buy MYW tickets seperate?? Or do I have to do the whole package room + tickets and not be able to use the code? Does that make sense

Re: Possible stupid question

I booked my rooms for our November trip at the AAA rate with Wendy at YourMagicalJourneys. I just spoke to her recently about our reservations and whether it would be cost-effective for us to switch to the new packages or leave the ressies as is and hope for Room only (for people without APs) and AP discounts (for those of us with APs) and then buy the MYW tickets separately. She told us for now it would be better for us to leave things as they are. Sooo, the way I understand it you will still be able to buy the MYW tickets without booking a package. My kids don't have APs and we will have to buy MYW tickets for them and Wendy said it wouldn't be a problem. (I know that was a long-winded answer to a simple question, sorry!) Hope this helps!!

Re: Possible stupid question

DH, DD and I all have AP's as we do two trips in a one calendar year so we got the AP rate on our room. We are taking DNephew with us this trip and bought him a 7 day MYW pass. I would think it would be no problem to book a room only with a code and then buy the MYW passes.

Re: Possible stupid question

Good...now what are the chances of a non AP discount code coming out for AKL?? And *if* one does...can I still up the room to a savannah??

It can be hard to predict when Disney will offer non-AP codes and when they won't. In general, it's more likely to happen during less popular times of the year. So it would hinge largely on what time in December/05 you're planning on going. If it's early December, the liklihood of a discount code becoming available is stronger than should you be going closer to Christmas time. As for still being able to upgrade to a savanna view room, frequently there are code rates for savanna view rooms as well as standard and pool view ones.

Re: Possible stupid question

First off, as everyone has said here, yes, you can purchase MYW tickets separately from your room.

Secondly, discounts depend on availability at the resort on the dates you are going. Generally, I haven't had a problem getting discounts on any of the AKL rooms, so depending on when you are going, I would be confident that you have a good chance of getting a discount, if/when one is released. Remember to try for it as soon as it comes out, because once they start getting snapped up, it's going to be tougher to get what you want.

You can always change room types or resorts once discounts come out - just ask the CM or your TA what the pricing would be for a savannah view room when the discount becomes available, and if it's there, Disney would be more than happy to put you in a room with a better view. You can book standard view now, and upgrade to savannah view once the discounts come out (I think that's what you are asking...), and many people do just that.

Hope that helps!

Re: Possible stupid question

We used a discount code for AKL last sept for a standard view and when we got there we followed the advice from everyone here and got upgraded to savannah view for the whole week for free good luck!
