| stroller rentals Okay, we watched the new planning DVD last night and in one of the segments the lady was talking about stroller rentals and said "for the length of your stay. Just keep your receipt." What did she mean by this. I've never heard of being able to present your receipt on a different day to get another stroller. Does she mean length of stay at WDW or length of stay in that park? Anybody know?
Also, what do you guys with little ones do? Bring your own stroller or rent at the park? |

| Re: stroller rentals I thought-but could be wrong- that you paid per day. If you park hopped you could just drop you stroller off in one park and go to the next, show your receipt and get another. Maybe there is a way to do it length of stay, but that would be new to me.
Last year when we went to WDW, we brought our own stroller. It was kind of a pain getting on and off the buses but some of the resorts were so big that we really wanted to be able to take it to the food court and the bus stop. Plus we has so much stuff it was nice to have along. |

| Re: stroller rentals We brought our own last time, but this time we will rent. There is a way you can rent one for your length of stay - ie. the whole vacation. I think you just go to stroller rental on the first day and tell them you need a length of stay rental, you pay up front for however many days you are there, then each time you get to a park, you go to a less crowded line, show them your receipt and obtain a stroller. People have remarked that the best part is you don't have to wait in that long line.
I would think this would be great if you were doing a park every day, but for us, probably the only time we will need it is at Epcot so we're just going to rent for that day and see what happens with the rest. We're doing a lot of 1/2 days so I think dd will be able to hold out. Also, you won't have the stroller waiting for the busses or at the resort so if you have a child under 4, I would bring your own. |

| Re: stroller rentals We usually stay at Swan/Dolphin. When we do that, we have the concierge desk rent us one from a local company. Including delivery, pick-up and 1 week we usually pay around $64. That's a little less than the parks and I have a stroller to walk to and from the parks and take on the boats. |

| Re: stroller rentals We rented one for four days last October for our 4 year old DS. We paid for all four days up front and they gave us receipt to show each time we got a stroller. It had 4 "tickets" stapled to it that they stamped with the date the first time we picked up a stroller that day. There was a discount too for paying up front.
When we went back in December, we took a stroller with us for him. He always seemed to fall asleep at the wrong time - when we were leaving the park. It was nice to have our own and just leave him in it. |

| Re: stroller rentals How little is the little one? The Disney strollers are a hard plastic, similar to a jogging stroller or bike trailer. Little one might be a wee bit uncomfortable sleeping in it. If you need the recline feature I would definately bring your own.
And yes, length of stay passes can be bought your first day. After that when you enter a park for a day, just go to the express stroller line, or stroller pick-up and show them your pass, and you are off.
Just a note if you do rent a stroller from Disney- they all look the same! We brought a bright yellow plastic grocery bag with a couple of white garbage bags in it(in case of rain) and tied it to our stroller handle. We could pick that thing out from a group of strollers in a second. No more searching through the blue sea for ours. Also handy because sometimes CM's have to move them and group them to different places while you are in a ride, so if it is not where you left it, you can still pick it out very fast. |

| Re: stroller rentals Yes, that is exactly it. We went in November and got 10 percent off for renting our stroller at our first stop. We just had to show that receipt to get strollers at each park. If you are there first thing in the morning as we were, you still have to wait in the mob that gets to the stroller parking area. But once there, the pay upfront system saves time. The only con to renting in my opinion, is the walking outside the park that you may do. Especially from the monorail to Epcot, I was wishing I had my own stroller when my 2-year-old insisted I carry her. Once, when we were just going to a character dinner in the evening, I brought along the umbrella stroller I'd planned to use just in the airport so I had some relief. That never would have worked in the park, since we needed a double stroller for my other DD, 5. We are going back in May, and I think we are going to bring our own this time b/c we are driving. I'm not sure though. I can say that looking at where strollers get parked, the people who bring their own are in the minority. |

| Re: stroller rentals they do givr u a name tag to put in a plastic cover that hangs by the handles.......we rented one double stoller in Nov/Dec for our 5 1/2 and 2 year old. It worked great!!!!! I think I paid up front for 6 days which instead of being $15x6= $90....... it was $81 plus tx witht the 10% discount. Plus you get 1 dollar back at the end of each day for returning your stoller.(you can do this daily or at the end of your trip.(6 days 6dollars) Plus the night we went to MVMCP when I went to show them my ticket to get a stoller they said the rental was included in the ticket price!!!!!!!!! So that was approximately another $13.50 I got refunded to me!!!!! |
