| what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? Has anyone ever been chosen to participate in any sort of show/ride/attraction/etc.?
If so, what was it? And any tips so we can get chosen as well? |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? Yup! This last trip, Sean and I were chosen for the backlot tour at MGM and I was, ahem, chosen for Indiana Jones!
I think for the backlot tour, we just happened to be in the right spot! We were way up front and Sean is really tall, so when they asked for volunteers, it was pretty easy to see us! I got to be the person on the phone who gets dumped on and Sean got to be the Captain on the boat!
Now! For Indy, you just have to be really, really willing to act nuts! ( This is not a problem for me! ) They ask for volunteers and you have to scream and jump up and down- ALOT!!!!!! You have to make them notice you!! It is so worth it!! YOu get to meet all of the actors and really see the stunts up close!! I would do it again in a heartbeat! This is definitely not for shy people! |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? My DD was picked for Indiana Jones last May. She stood up on the seat (I DEFINITELY would NOT recommend this) and waved her arms like a lunatic! Embarrassed her poor brother to death. But she got picked and had a lot of fun with it.

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? My DD was picked to be in the Main Street Parade in '98.
We were getting a good spot for the parade, got there very early, and enjoying some ice cream. We struck up a conversation with a very friendly CM, and she asked if our DD would like to be in the parade. |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? I was in Indy, too. I agree with Tara--you gotta act a little goofy! I stood up and waved my son's bright orange hat. It was a BLAST! |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? I've been chosen for the Indiana Jones Stunt show, the
Animal Kingdom parade, the MGM backlot tour demo, the little chair act in France at WS and my DH got picked to be part of one of the World Showcase Players productions. With most of these, it's a case of being in the right place at the right time. I do think it helps to chat with all the friendly CM's. That's how we ended up being asked to be in the Animal Kingdom parade. And enthusiasm really does help - I've often been accused of being "terminally perky" but that condition seems to reap positive benefits at WDW.

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? The kids seemed to get picked by the characters to be in the parade almost every time. They also got picked to be in the parade for the Festival of the Lion King. I had heard that sitting on row 2 (not the first row) is the best way to get chosen for that. And Lizzie got chosen to go up against the parrot doing math in the Wonders of Flight show. I think it was because we were sort of sitting down close and she had on a red shirt. Oh, and Chet got chosen once to be in the Beauty and the Beast play with Belle in the Fairy Tale garden. We got there sort of early and chatted up the CM's and they chose him to be Chip. For that I think they are looking for younger kids. |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? My then 8 yr old nephew was chosen for the Anacomical SHow at WOnders of Life. We liked the show so much that we came back for the next one. He sat in the front row very quietly & the Guy picked him to balance spinning plates & help with his act.
I was picked by the balancing chair guy as I was hanging in the area waiting for his show. When he started & a crowd gathered he picked me out of the crowd. |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? I think my DH has been in most of the shows that you can get picked for at WDW (but not the parades) and USF for that matter. Sometimes I think he walks around the parks with his hand up in the air all the time! The only one he hasn't been in is Indiana Jones but not for lack of trying . My brother was in Indiana Jones last time we were there and he said it was alot of fun. DD#1 was in the little parade at MK where you follow the three guys with the pipe and drum and flag and then she got presented with a copy of the Declaration of Independence in 1995. My brother and I were in the same parade as kids. I think that's about it! |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? At Disneyland my 2 youngest were chosen to be in the Aladdin's Storytelling show. They had a lot of fun.
Also at DL my girls and I were chosen for the Parade of the Stars. Youngest DD marched with Piglet, Oldest with Eeyore, and I got Mushu. That is one of my fondest memories. I smiled so hard my face hurt! The girls and our cousins were chosen for the same parade a year later, but this time were dressed up as ballerina hippos--It was hilarious, our cousin Brandon was 15 at the time and quite mortified.
All 3 kids were chosen to participate in an African Dance show at DCA once too.
My kids love the interaction at Disney almost as much as the rides. |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? My DD has been in every parade that we've been to. I was in the Indiana Jones show in college. My poor friend who was with me wanted to be in it so badly, but I had on a bright tye-dye shirt so I guess they spotted me before her. It was great.
I'm most proud of being "Little Miss Liberty" in the parade back in 1972 (I think it was '72; I believe I was 5 at the time). My brother and I were picked to walk the whole parade route. We had costumes and props. At the end of the parade they stopped and someone dressed in a Revolutionary solder suit read this speech thanking me and my brother and we received medals. It was so great! I still have my medal! But, alas, no photos. My dad has a talent of running out of film at the most important times! |

| Re: what are your favorite \"participation\" spots? My favorite participation show is Who Wants to be a Milionaire Play It. I have been in the hot seat and it is very fun but a little nerve racking. I am not very good with the fastest finger question but I'm very fast with my answers to the other questions.
