| How do you get some rest !?! We all know that 'Touring The World' can be pretty exhausting and that rest is a must if you are going to make it to the end of your trip!
My favorite way to rest up during a day at the World was to go to the hammocks at Discovery Island but, alas, they and the Island are no longer open to us!
I'm looking for new ways and places to relax in the World and I was hoping you could help me out. Can you share your secrets with me? I'll be looking forward to reading your secrets and adopting them for myself!

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! The heat down in Walt Disney World really does me in, so I find that spending some time in air-conditioning perks me up. Sometimes that means a restaurant (if its meal time) or an attraction that's quiet and long. Here are some good sit-down, air-conditioned attractions that you can enjoy for long enough to cool down and recharge:
Magic Kingdom: Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents
Epcot: Impressions de France, Universe of Energy
Disney-MGM Studios: Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Muppet*Vision 3D, Disney's Doug Live
Animal Kingdom: "It's Tough to be a Bug!"
If I have the time, I find a nap back at the resort does wonders!

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! This past trip I felt like I was traveling with a young child again! My husband wanted to go back to the resort for a nap each day!
I am not use to this as I usually go to WDW with my bestfriend. For our relaxation we usually find some shady spot to sit and people watch! Love to watch the expressions on peoples faces when they are doing or seeing something new! This next trip we may do things differently due to the heat in Sept! (always seem to go when it is cooler weather)

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! Cruella: My husband and I usually take more relaxed trips than we used to. We do sitdown restaurants and take frequent breaks, for cold drinks etc. Sometimes we go back to the resort, my husband naps and I cool off in the pool. even an hour and a half can perk you up. | Re: How do you get some rest !?! I didn't know they even allowed rest in Disney! A few years ago, we stayed at AsMu at the same time they were building the All Star Movies. Our room was on the same side as the construction. It really wasn't a problem until our 5th or 6th day when I decided to sleep late for a change. Turns out the reason construction in Disney is so fast is they start at the crack of dawn!! Oh well, so much for sleeping in. My daughter would definitely agree with Jennifer about The Hall Of Presidents. She looks forward to the air-conditioning and the long nap she takes everytime we go. Kids! |

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! After a long morning at the parks, we always head back to resort for a quick nap or swim.
We go back to the parks refreshed and ready for fun filled evening.

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! Rest? At WDW? Do those words actually belong in the same breath?
I worked at a very large water park here in Colo. for 17 years, so the heat doesn't really get to me.
What does get to me is my feet. I used to not be very smart in my youth, and received some injuries because I didn't use my brain. As a result my feet can become a pain in the neck.
My solution? At the end of a long day of roaming the parks I find a hot tub. Once there I put my feet in front of one of the jets. After a while my feet are good to go for another few miles! |

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! To rest sometimes my husband and I would head to the "poly" and use there hammocks or just lay on the sand or chair there. We have also rented a boat and packed a lunch to each while relaxing on the water (we usually rent the ones with the little canopies). However, in October we will be traveling with our son who will be 18 months so I'm sure we will be utilizing the nap solution in the middle of the day at our hotel...which is fine by me. |

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! On our last trip, my youngest daughter treated my oldest daughter and me to a day at the spa at the Grand Floridian! While we did that, DH and youngest daughter took the grandaughter to ride the ponies at Fort Wilderness.
Usually, when the crowds in the parks get TOO INTENSE, we go back to our resort and do the pool thing.
My favorite time to relax is late at night when everyone else has settled in. Depending on where we are staying I take a walk or if a restaurant or cafe is still open, I get a cup of coffee and enjoy the atmosphere and the people. People are more fun to watch when they are winding down.
My favorite place to relax late at night used to be at Beaches 'n Cream. You could get your snack or coffee and go out and sit by the pool. It's so beautiful at night with all the lights and no one in it. But, alas, they fenced it in.
Take care-

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! I agree with you WildforWD, laying around the "Creek" is about as relaxing as it gets! As I've said before, "You can sleep when you get home!" You know, you do not know when you'll be back to the world and there is much, too much to see and do while you're there, so go ahead and enjoy. |

| Re: How do you get some rest !?! We like to resort hop during the heat of the day and spend time relaxing in the different resort lobbies.
Our favorites for taking a break from the Magic Kingdom are The Wildreness Lodge and Grand Floridian lobbies.
I think we will enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby as well when we need a break from the Animal Kingdom (which seems to be the hottest of the parks in my opinion).
For relaxing while at Epcot, we tend to find a restaurant to have lunch (Mexico or Canada) - nice and cool and dark. Or go back to the hotel pool.
While at MGM, we will ride one of the Friendship boats back to the Boardwalk and lounge in their lobby for a while.
Who am I kidding, we try to relax in all these places but it lasts for about 15 minutes then I have to get going. I always feel like I am missing something.
