Dxl to FW and back for Hoopdeedo

We have a resie for Hoopdeedo's 9:30 show on Thurs 11/15. MK closes at 7pm that night. We are staying at DxL and need to know the best and quickest way to go from our hotel to FW and back again. It will be late and I'm sure we'll have 3 tired kids.
Thanks,
Cathy

Re: Dxl to FW and back for Hoopdeedo

The best way to do that is to hop the boat that runs from MK to Fort Wilderness. The boat drops you off very near Pioneer Hall, and there's a petting zoo, and the barn where they keep the Belgium and Percheron draft horses that pull the trollys at the MK. So, you can visit those places while you wait. I think they also have a few hayrides that you might have time to take. Or you can just snag a rocking chair on the porch of the General Store/Trading Post Store nearby. But, the boat launch is really the quickest and most reliable.

(Whoops, just re-read your post. Take the bus to the TTC and then catch--I think it's either the Boone or Crockett bus. Then, repeat the whole thing to go home.)

When I've gone to Hoop De Doo from PO, there was a special bus that ran from our resort to Fort Wilderness. This bus only ran during the Hoop De Doo showtimes. We then caught the (and I don't remember, either! Boone or Crocket) bus that took us to Pioneer Hall. I would check with Guest Relations at your resort to see what your transportation options are.

Exiting DxL take a right. (the signs say for all parks go left but don't) Go to the end of that road and at the stop sign take a left. FW will be on your right. It's only a 5 to 10 min max ride. One of the bell men gave us those directions and it was very easy. By the way, we loved the show and our kids want to do it again. Have fun.

Re: Dxl to FW and back for Hoopdeedo

OK, here's another suggestion. I would get a cab back to the resort. No having to worry about what bus to take, no transfers, and an easy ride "home" for the tired crew.

We had a very long trip home from the Poly to CBR last trip (with our two kids, 7 and 5 yrs old).....monorail to TTC, wait for bus to Downtown Disney, transfer at Marketplace and wait for bus to CBR that then stopped at each stop in DD, and then to the resort. It was midnight when we arrived back at our room, and we were exhausted and frustrated in the length of time it took. So later in the trip when we were at the Yacht Club late in the evening, we opted for a cab rather than going through that again. The cost was $9.00 including tip and was well worth it in our opinion.
