Planning my first trip!!! Can you get the Ultimate Park Hopper for less than your length of stay? We want to do the 7 hr Backstage Magic Tour ($200 ea x5) and I don't really want to pay for park passes on top of that for that day. I also want to spend a day hanging around the campground, there seems to be alot to do there. I also wondered if we got the 6/7 day park hopper could we use the plus features without using a major park day (or am I just wishful thinking)?

I've never done the Ultimate Park Hopper, but I heard you could drop either your arrival date OR your departure date - that's all. It sounds like a Park Hopper Plus will be a better match for you (I'm not sure exactly how long you will be there) You can use the Plus options separately from the park passes (i.e. only do the plus options that day). Neither the park days nor the plus options expire, so you could save them for another trip if you do not use them all.
