| Ultimate Park Hopper and Park hours Hi there! I am new to the board and am taking my first trip to Disney since I was a child. Question: We will be at Disney in early November. We checked the operating schedule for the Magic Kingdom and most of the time we will be there, it will be closing at 7pm or 8pm. We had planned on getting the Ultimate unlimited passes..with the intent of spending part of the day at the water parks and then going to Magic Kingdom in the evening. With the early closing of the park, we think that might not allow us much time in the Kingdom at all and not as much time to enjoy the water parks either. We will be staying at the All Star Movie and think we would be rushed to go back to the hotel and change and then go to the Kingdom. So...do you think it's worth it to get the Ultimate passes or just do a Park Hopper Plus instead?? Also can you tell me how warm the water is for swimming at the parks in early November?? Thanks...we are taking this trip for fun, but also to support the travel industry and our airlines and economy...and also a bit out of spite!! We really need to keep the cost down....thanks so much. | Re: Ultimate Park Hopper and Park hours WELCOME!! We'll be there the same time as you and we're staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge - we have chosen a 7 day hopper pass for our admission media - I have an Annual Pass (bought soley for the savings I received on my room at the AKL!). I think it's the best way to go - check out www.wdwig.com for a great comparison (among other things!). We, too, have decided to go on with our trip -it's been planned for about one year and I'm still pumping my money into the economy! Have fun - maybe we'll run into you! | Re: Ultimate Park Hopper and Park hours Of the water parks, only Blizzard Beach will be open in November. The water is heated, but there's enough variability in air temperature (60's to 80's) to make me wonder just how much time you'll want to spend out of the water. You won't see any savings switching from an Ultimate Park Hopper to a Park Hopper Plus, and actually, you'll get more value out of the Ultimate Park Hopper as your options are not limited, and it includes DisneyQuest, too (which is another late-night option for you). You'll save money switching to a regular Park Hopper, but as the maximum duration for that is five days, you have to decide how to cover admission for the remaining days of your visit. Early November is part of the slow season - Magic Kingdom has never stayed open late on weeknights during that period. However, Epcot is open every night until 9:00 PM. As an adult, you may find that Magic Kingdom won't be the only park you want to visit in the evenings. Epcot has the Food and Wine Festival, IllumiNations and Tapestry of Dreams; Disney-MGM Studios has Fantasmic!; Pleasure Island is open until 2:00 AM, and DisneyQuest until Midnight. I suggest on days you want to go to Blizzard Beach visit Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom in the mornings, visit Blizzard Beach in the late morning/early afternoon, then head over to Epcot/Studios in the afternoon/evening. You can change clothes at the water park, so there's no need to waste time going back to your room - just toss your wet suits into Ziplocks and put them in your day pack. |
