What Water Parks are Open in January?

I have been to Disney World twice in October, and RC was closed both times. Is this park usually open in January? We are going the 22 thru the 28th. I saw in the Disney schedule that BB closes the last part of December, when does it typically reopen? I know that there are many changes going on right now, and I will be lucky if anyone of them are open.
Thanks,
Laurie

Typhoon Lagoon will be open during your visit. It is currently closed for its annual rehab. Once Typhoon Lagoon reopens, Blizzard Beach will close for its annual rehab. River Country is normally closed from October through the beginning of Spring Break - its waters (drawn from Bay Lake) are not heated, so it wouldn't be much fun.

This is all the normal Fall/Winter schedule for the water parks. It has nothing to due with the current economic conditions.

Actually, you might be lucking out by having Typhoon Lagoon be open--out of all 3, that's the one *I'd* want to have open if I were vacation in Central Florida in January!

The lush tropical atmosphere of TL will completely sweep you away from the winter blanket that covers the bulk of the US from December - March. Have fun!

I know I am looking forward to relaxing in the lush atmosphere of TL in January! It is by far my fav water park at WDW. We'll be visiting BB in December, but I really can't wait to see TL again in January! And the best perk there is Shark's reef - swimming with the tropical fish and sharks is incredible!

Hmmmm, I was really looking forward to Typhoon Lagoon. I hadn't heard anything about it being closed in Nov. We will be there Nov. 8 thur Nov. 13. Does anyone know if it will be open then? That was a factor in deciding to purchase the Ultimate Park Hopper was that we could swim there each day.

Rachel-

Unfortunately Typhoon doesn't open back up until December 29, at which point Blizzard will shut down for about a month. Go and enjoy Blizzard, I worked there during my College Program and loved it!

Re: What Water Parks are Open in January?

Thanks for the info Brian.

I am very disappointed about Typhoon Lagoon, but I am certain we will have a fantastic time anyway. Just think Disney could have told me that when I called there several times asking lots of questions about the passes and park operating hours for my dates. But we got very low airfare, and low hotel rate, and hey we are going to Disney!!!! I'll get over it!
