Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

Hi!
I still haven't gotten my trip report on the board yet.....just finished reviewing more notes. But....wanted to mention this ride. We happened upon by accident as we couldn't get on Space Mt. or Buzz Lightyear. WHAT A GREAT RIDE! It did not make our must do list (there was so much to chose from as this was our first trip). To think that we almost missed this! I would not recommend with younger children and suppose it would raise my grandmothers hair......but it was one of our favorites. Anyone with teens this is a must! Did anyone else like this ride as much as we did? Just thought I would give it it's just do

Happy Adventuring!

Umm, that's one I haven't seen much mention of on this board. It's definitely not on my favorites list but I do like the preshow though.

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

I agree MOT, Alien Encounter is a great ride!

My son and I loved this ride too! Matthew loved it so much that we rode it 4 times over the course of 8 days. It is definitely a must do on our next trip.

I am on record as not liking this ride at all. Way to scary for the MK. Just one scaredy cat. Did I spell that right.

George Lucas is a creative genius! And this is definite proof, he really knows how to engulf you in the experience in the movies and he created a really great scene with just an animatronic, a couple screens and some cheap special effects!

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

Have to cast a "nay" vote on this one.

Don't like it at all! Don't like burnt to a crisp Skippy, is it? and REALLY don't like having the harness around my next. Haven't been last two trips, and probably won't go again.

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

It's definately one of those love or hate rides, no middle ground. I love it. DH hates it. You've gotta love it if you're taking a newbie on it to see their reaction!

I've never been on this. Is it really scary? I was thinking of trying it.

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

It is very scary and realistic. Not for the faint of heart or claustrophobic. It's not a ride (no movement) but a theater experience that lets you imagination take over and scare the pants off you. If you have kids don't take them unless you've tried it first.

I thought it was very effective; scary and suspensful. Noisy, dark, and you never know what is coming next!

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

LOL This is my son's "Satan-made ride" (Kruggie I love that term!! Hope ya don't mind me using it ) He was chosen as the 'test' person or whatever they call it when they put the spotlight on one person in the audience & was totally pretrified.. He did say he would ride it again..
BTW.. Is the test person always the same seat or does someone picks them at random? We were all just wondering since it made the ride even more scary for DS ( & more funny for DH)

Love this one! Gets me evey time and is deffinitely one of our favorites.

You have to let yourself fall into the storyline though or it won't work for you.

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

DH & I both loved this one...however, when we went on there was an 8 or 9 year old boy who was absolutely terrified. It was disburbing listening to him scream throughout the ride--he was completely terrified. When the ride was over and everyone was leaving he was still sobbing uncontrolably.

Re: Alien Encounter - we loved this ride!

Two years ago was our first time on Alien Encounter. I hated it!! It was very scary. I would'nt even think about going on the ride last year. That's saying something. I have worked for a Police Dept. and had to see some gruesome things. Even worse, I used to work for The Gap. Now THAT is scary!

We are going back in 11 days, and the thing that I am most excited about doing is...Alien Encounter!

"What!?" you might say. Well, I can't explain it. Maybe becuase I have been away for a while. Maybe it is the adrenaline rush. I'm not sure, but I can't wait for the lights to go off and to be locked in to the seats. My heart pounding, my hands sweating, and my knees knocking! The screaming, the crying, the loud noises, and the Alien that is going to...
