| Re: Boardwalk The Boardwalk is a fun way to spend an evening. There are some cute shops, nice restaurants, and "clubs" -- like Jelly Rolls, to name one. There are also surrey bike rentals, some entertainers (like stilt walkers, jugglers, etc.), and little cart vendors. It is a fun place to go -- but it is not a place where you could spend an entire day. Perhaps a few hours here -- and then maybe the rest of the time at Downtown Disney? | Re: Boardwalk JellyRolls is a blast but very very smokey!! Two pianos are on stage and they play music back and forth as if they are dueling. For instance, they will take a request and often play different parts to the song. They get the audience involved and someitmes change the words to make the somg funny. We had a blast but like I said it was very smokey. I would give it a try if you have the time...I think you'll like it. |

| Re: Boardwalk The Boardwalk doesn't really get interesting until the evening; I wouldn't make a special trip to get there. Depending on your interests, you might consider the Fantasia Gardens (I think that's what it's called) where there is a mini-golf thing - we've never done it yet because the kids aren't really old enough to enjoy it, but I think it would be fun. Swimming is always good, especially if there's a cool slide and Pina Coladas (IF you're old enough!) Or splurge on one of the water parks - they're way fun! Downtown Disney has way more stuff to look at (especially during the day), but not really the kind of nightlife that Pleasure Island has. We loved the Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Club there before we had kids. I've heard lots of people say they really enjoyed DisneyQuest, but again, we haven't been because our kids aren't really old enough to justify spending the money to get in. Whatever you do I'm sure you will enjoy it - it's Disney World! [ 04-22-2002, 07:54 PM: Message edited by: Thumper Fan ] |

| Re: Boardwalk I agree with what everyone here is saying. Boardwalk is nice to walk around, but not enough to make a day of. I would like to suggest eating at ESPN Club on the Boardwalk, or walking over to Beaches and Cream at the Yacht & Beach Club across from the Boardwalk if you want some great food. We actually went from MGM over to Boardwalk via the boat in order to eat at ESPN because MGM was packed. The food was excellent. Sometimes the service in the bar can get a little slow, but if you just want to sit and relax, they keep the soda refills coming, and the portions are good. We enjoyed the burgers and the turkey club wrap for lunch. You could split the wrap with another adult no problem. Downtown Disney is much more exciting. Lots of great shopping and lots of great eats!!! Good luck picking! |
