Boardwalk

Hey all you Disney experts out there! Give me some advice or info on Boardwalk.

I have never been and we will be in the magic land over thanksgiving.

We have a lot packed into this trip, including a day of shopping at DTD before MVMCP that evening. Should I try and get to Boardwalk some time this trip or save it for another?

Is there something not to be missed?

Thanks

Re: Boardwalk

If you're planning to be at Epcot for IllumiNations, why not extend your evening by exiting the park via the International Gateway, and take a stroll along the BoardWalk? That way, you won't cut seriously into any of your other activities. Unless you plan to dine there, go dancing at Atlantic Dance or spend a couple of hours listening to deuling pianos at Jellyrolls, BoardWalk is essentially a pleasant one-hour stroll.

Re: Boardwalk

I like Dave's suggestion of going over to the boardwalk after viewing Illuminations. It is a nice walk and if it is chilly out, you can always get a cup of coffee/tea from the Bakery (you can also check out the goodies there too ), find a spot on a park bench and enjoy the atmosphere. It is very relaxing & can be quite romantic sitting there watching the lights flicker on the waterway.

Re: Boardwalk

Great idea dave, but can we get a bus back to Port Orleans Riverside late at night?

Re: Boardwalk

BoardWalk doesn't have direct buses to the various resorts. You'd have to take a bus to Downtown Disney and transfer. Fortunately, Port Orleans is quite close to Downtown, and if you get there early enough you might even take the boat back from Downtown, for a final bit of romance.

Re: Boardwalk

I highly recommend going to Jellyrolls following Illuminations! My hubby and I did this last year and we had a blast singing along to the dueling pianos. It's a big group participation thing for those who truly believe that life is a spectator sport!

We'll be heading there again this year!

Re: Boardwalk

ok let me see if i got this:
Watch Illuminations, walk to Boardwalk, walk the boardwalk, got to Jellyrolls for dueling pianos, take a bus to DTD, take a boat to Riverside.
Ohhhh sounds great, thanks Dave for the extra romance. THis trip is special and I want to include all the magic I can.

But now : Can I do this all after Illuminations? How late do the buses go to DTD and how late do the boats run to Riverside? I don't want to get stranded and I have this fear of being stuck somewhere inbetween these spots and no way to get home
