Manatees at the Living Seas

Hi!

I've just read a trip report, which says the manatees have gone from the Living Seas. This has really upset me, as they're my favourite part of the attraction. Can anyone else confirm whether this is a temporary departure or not?

Thanks!

Cheryl

I hope not! I also love the manatees! Being from Michigan, this was the only place that I have been able to see them!

Re: Manatees at the Living Seas

We were at Epcot a couple of weeks ago and the manatees were still at the Living Seas.

Re: Manatees at the Living Seas

They did release a few manatees from Epcot earlier this year, and for a few months there were no manatees at Living Seas. Alas, two manatees were rescued from the Ortega River in Jacksonville (just down the road from where we live), and are now being cared for at Epcot's Living Seas. Hopefully, one day they too will be released back into the wild, but in the meantime you can enjoy viewing them at Disney.

Re: Manatees at the Living Seas

We went last July and the manatees were gone AND the ride was closed. I'm glad to hear that the manatees are back. Any word on the ride? A cast member eluded to budget problems when we were there.
