Thank You all....truly...I have been to disney world a lot of times and this is the first time that I'm excited to calmly enjoy the parks and look for these treasures. We always travel with a party of 12-18 and I'm the navigator with the map perma-attached in my brain and lead everyone around the park (running like a kid) and missing all of the detail. It's all of the sudden not all about the rides, or me....

If the archives of my brain remember any exciting items of my own, I promise to post!

Here's to the countdown...12 days!!!

The Hatbox Ghost

Little known fact... when the Haunted Mansion first opened, where the bride is currently standing there was a "hatbox ghost", created by Marc Davis. The illusion was the ghost's head would be on his neck, and then disappear and reappear inside the hatbox he was holding. I am glad they took him out after about 2 months because when I saw the picture online, I was scared half to death! EXTREMELY creepy. I slept with the lights on last night!!!!! For those of you who want to see him, pictures can be found on doombuggies.com. Enjoy!

OK so I have read almost all of these! How many of these are outdated? Can anyone take on the task of getting rid of the repeats or outdated one? I was just wondering!
I have gone thru and cleaned up some of the thread.

The Hatbox Ghost was at Disneyland, not WDW. By the time the Florida Mansion opened, the Hatbox Ghost was long gone.

Exclamation Haunted Mansion Ring : A Heads Up

As part of the cleanup of this thread, a very popular "secret" had to be removed: the engagement ring at the Haunted Mansion. While this was never an intentional part of the storyline per the Imagineers, it did take on a big following. When the ride was refurbished in the summer of 2007, the "ring" was permenantly removed.

Here are some old quotes regarding the ring:
Quote:
Haunted Mansion Ring. Here is how you find it. When you exit the ride you walk outside under a covered walkway and the Hearst carriage is in front of you. The walkway is made up of rectangular blocks about 2 feet by 1 feet. Then the walkway turns into a cobblestone style. Look at the SECOND row of big blocks BEFORE the cobblestone. The big Block that is dead center of the pathway and is parallel to the cobbleston big block line is the block that the ring is in. It is in the lower right portion, Not the hole on the lower left of this block. Phew! Hope this helps.
*AND*
Quote:
After you exit the ride you will walk under a shaded area. At the end of the shaded area, near the horse-drawn carriage, there is a brick with two marks in it. The one on the right is the ring!
This ring is no longer there, but I wanted to keep it in this thread as a reference. I have removed all mentionings of this story from this thread until this post so as not to confuse any new WDW fans.

WDW is ever changing, so if anything else in this thread is no longer valid, please PM me and I will remove it.

Thank you for your participation in this very popular, five-year-old thread!

Hi everyone,

I had this list at one time and I've since moved and sure enough I can't find it anywhere.

Can someone tell me where to find the link to the Word document?

Thanks!
