Rx meds and bag searches My DH takes to medications at dinner time. Will he need to drag his prescription bottles or can he just put them in a little pill case? We both will be wearing fanny packs not backpacks. Thanks. Jennifer

Re: Rx meds and bag searches Hi, I also take daily meds, and last time I just put an 8-day supply in a pill case in my purse, and ANOTHER 8-day supply in my carry-on just in case. That way if something happens, you still have whatever meds you need. No problems at the airport with the pill cases, and I was one of those unlucky ones taken aside for a more "personal" search. Have a wonderful trip!

Re: Rx meds and bag searches DH takes meds every morning. I take meds and TONS of supplements -- 4x during the day. We both got wanded and had our carry on stuff searched in November. The way we carried meds was to put what we needed into one of those little plastic canisters that rolls of 35mm film come in. Labelled what was inside and put those in our carry on. Didn't have any problem, in spite of the security check. DH can take meds in the a.m. on an empty stomach, so no problem for him in the hotel room as we get ready. I take one round of meds at the same time, but have to carry the rest with me. Shoved a film canister with the day's meds into my fanny pack, and never had any problem anywhere.

Re: Rx meds and bag searches My mom takes 8 dozen pills a day (not really, but a lot!), and she carries them in a regular pill bottle. She's had no problem. I've carried in my birth control pills, in the pill pack, with no problem as well.

Re: Rx meds and bag searches As an Orlando local who frequently visits the parks, I can tell you that through my last visit on Sunday, the bag search procedure is mostly cosmetic. The security guards do a cursory search, some more intense than others, but not truly thorough. They do not check pill bottles or film cannisters or make you drink from your water bottle to ensure that you aren't sneaking somthing other than water into the parks. I'm sure there are other measures that are being taken that are invisible to the guests, however, the bottom line is that you should have no problems with your meds. Of course, given the especially volatile political situation that we have right now, things could change any time. If there are any changes over the next week or so, I'll let you know. -Pam

Re: Rx meds and bag searches It all depends on what Rx they are and how they are adminstered. I am on a lot of meds.for the RA,etc, and took some in the weekly pill carriers and others in their original bottles just in case I needed to double-check them. Of course, the injectable solution and the syringes had to be in their original, labled containers(the airlines reqire this in order to carry the needles). I just took whatever I needed for the day in the parks in a my little enamled case and had no problem with Park security.

| Re: Rx meds and bag searches I think you'll be fine with them in a pill case (we do this for my mom and her daily prescriptions). We also have a list of all her medicines and dosages on a piece of paper, in case of an emergency or any questions. This makes it easier at the airport too.
