| First time WDW vacation Hi guys, I made my reservations for a first time trip to WDW for October 2004! EXCITING ! My husband and I will be traveling with our sons 12 and 6 and am planning on staying at the Pop Century for 11 days. We plan on touring the Disney Parks and plan a few days of down time just to enjoy "DISNEY" My questions are: 1- Will the weather be good for the waterparks? (we are coming from rainy Washington State) 2-Which kind of pass do we need? Thanks for all your help! | Re: First time WDW vacation I would get some of those Ultimate Hopper Passes for the Length of your stay if you plan to just do Disney and not Universal or Sea World. I believe that Typhoon Lagoon will be open, and the weather looks marvy. We'll be there next week, and it looks like the lows are in the 60's and highs in the 80's - chance of rain around 30% max. Course that could change if a hurricane blows through, but who can say. It should be warm enough in any case. The pools are all heated, so you can SWIM IN them even in the winter . It's the getting OUT that is tricky. |

| Re: First time WDW vacation Congrats Norma on booking your first WDW holiday. You're going to have such a blast! As for passes, with that number of days, it will actually work out cheaper for you to buy annual passes when you're going to be there for eleven days. Plus with the annual passes, you're eligible for things like room discounts, and discounts at some of the restaurants and shops. Another big savings with them is that you can plan a holiday for the next year and just a week or so sooner and get two holidays (passes wise) for the price of one. Joy |

| Re: First time WDW vacation Hi Norma, I've been at WDW in January, June, July, August, September and October. Not all at once, though. The absolute most PERFECT weather we ever had was October. We were there 10/20 -10/27. Gorgeous. No rain. Pretty cool mornings and evenings, we wore shorts but with sweatshirts and lost the sweatshirts late morning. It got up to maybe 85° or so by mid-afternoon. We did Typhoon Lagoon and I think Blizzard Beach was closed or else we just didn't do it, I can't remember. The only chilliness was at the Shark Reef, but that water is cold no matter when you go. I should add, it was totally worth it and the Shark Reef is something not to miss. As far as everything else, it was warm and wonderful. It's a great time to go. Have fun! | Re: First time WDW vacation I also agree that the AP is the least expensive way to go and also might provide some savings to you on the resort stay if AP codes are released for next year. You'll have a great time in October - still very warm and summery then! |

| Re: First time WDW vacation Howdy to a fellow Washingtonian..from Ellensburg origonally, the sunny side of the state. I would suggest an AP for all the reasons mentioned above. We are planning on purchasing AP's for next year being that we live 5 hours away. For your length of stay, well worth it. If you get AP rates you will love it even more. Brian Diefenbach |

| Re: First time WDW vacation Congrats on your upcoming trip! I too would go with what other people suggested and get the AP. If you plan on hitting the parks for 8 days that's the break even point of the regular AP. You can always purchase the water park tickets separate and there is a discount for those if you hold an AP. |

| Re: First time WDW vacation I also suggest the Annual passes for each of you. Plus, you can buy the vouchers now and it'll be cheaper than buying them at the gate. You only need to go to the parks 8 days and you'll have the passes paid for. Also, buy them now before they go up again! The vouchers never expire, but your annual pass is good for one year from the date you exchange them. You might even be able to get a really good AP rate for your time! If Pop Century is anything like the All Stars(which it's in the same category) you'll have a blast!! we're looking forward to your trip just as much as you are, well you might be a tad more excited. LOL! Congratulations!!! Wendy |

| Re: First time WDW vacation I was just at Typhoon Lagoon on Thursday, and I can tell you that October is an ideal time to visit the water parks. It was just a little cool when we got there at 10:30 and just a little hot when we left at 2:30. |

| Re: First time WDW vacation I agree with JOYJOY. The shark reef is cold!!!!! We were there in June and the first time I went in I couldn't really see anything I was shaking so bad. The second time was great, really neat fish. About the passes, I like the Annual passes because we try to use them on two trips. We just plan on an earlier trip the next year we go after buying them. There's also restaurant, hotel and store discounts. GreatDeal! |

| Re: First time WDW vacation The first trip is always the best! Great choice staying eleven nights! (I usually do 9 or more). It gives you more time to see everything. We've been in October and the weather was perfect.Average temp was 85. So that's fine for water parks. Have a great time! You will be totally blown away by everything there. I'm sure you'll be going back again!! Oh by the way we usually buy annual passes for any stay 9 days or longer. (It's also a great in case you decide to visit again within the year!)Plus there are some perks and discounts with an AP. |

| Re: First time WDW vacation Thanks for the info! I will diffently get the Annual Pass- I wasn't sure what the break even point would be and you anwsered that too! With living so far away I was pretty sure we wouldn't make it back to use the pass again, so at least I know we will break even! Thanks again, your a great bunch of people!
