He has a yellow lanyard.

So, my question, what edition is he? do i have to have him updated? or does it do it automatically when you enter te parks? is there a special place to go to have it done?

TIA!
That is the Happiest Celebration on Earth edition, not the latest edition (he's in a sorcerer robe). I'm not sure about the updating, as I've never actually taken my pal mickey into a park, but I'm sure someone can help.

There was a Yahoo discsussion board several years ago (that's closed now) with detailed information about the electronics inside Pal Mickey. Does anyone have that information that they could send to me?

We bought our PM in 2001 when he was brand new. We have used him every year since then. This year when we took him to the parks, he stopped working. We took him to City Hall and asked them about updating the software, and they told us that you don't have to do anything to update him. He updates automatically as soon as you walk through the gate. They gave us a brand new PM and said it was just a malfunction with the old one. (He is 7 years old after all, so I guess it isn't hard to believe that he could malfunction.) At least I got a brand new PM. And free on top of that!

So I was looking around online to find out how to get a Pal Mickey before we left but not from ebay, and I was looking at Laughing Place which will do in park shopping for you. They have PM for $125....thats outrageous, how much is he in the parks?

He is $65 in the parks. I think that's nuts too. If you want one that badly, call Disney merchandise.

Edit: I reread what I wrote and I think I kind of come off poorly and that wasn't my intention. I meant it was nuts they were charging $125 and if you wanted one badly enough, Disney Merchandise could probably help you.

I just read all 7 pages of this thread and either my brain is fried or my question hasn't been answered yet so here goes... I have 2 PMs, one is the orig and one with the tux. Is the Sorcerer PM any different other than outfit? Does it have new games or something? I'm bringing both of my old ones when we go in late aug and wondering if I should budget for the new one too. I bought the pin trading outfit for him the last time I was there, soooo cute! I also have the light up pin now that I'm thinking about it, gotta find that! Thanks!

me too!!!
I'm soo confused!!!

I have a PM from '03, I was going to bring him on the trip just because (as I will bring a couple other stuffed guys, you know just because...)

But I thought he was too old to "upgrade" or there is no way to "upgrade" meaning that any new rides or attractions info wouldn't be downloaded into him via his cute nose...

So I was budgeting buying a new one.....but I see here someone posted that they used their '01 PM and it was fine....sigh.

I had no problems with his volume or his clip the whole time we were there (9 days).....

I was 100% completely ecstatic with him!

I read somewhere, that WDW was doing away with the pal mickey and the system that sends him his info when you enter the parks! Is this true?

Hi everyone,

I read every page and will not be able to answer too many questions, but thought I would share a few pictures. I had the one PM with the gold emblem on the hand but that was mailed to another DISser and then it got lost. So I bought the Sorcerer PM on Ebay and had it mailed to me at ASMu when I went in Dec of 06. I think I paid about $30 total and the shipping was free.

first picture is of a clip I use on my PM in the parks. It is easier to use and you can clip it on anything that has a loop or strap narrow enough.

this is one of my favorite pictures. I had such character interaction where ever I was. I got more special attention because of my PM. Mickey and Minnie especially loved him. I made sure to get a picture taken and then move on so not as to take time from kids wanting pictures with a character.

I have named my PM Mickey Charles Mouse (Chuckie) for short. I think I have more pairs of shoes for him than I do!!!

I do not usually turn him on because I then will hear him and any other PM close by in stereo. I am more interested in getting pictures of him with characters. But in the future I will use him when traveling with my grandchildren. Right now he travels with me. I take him everywhere. I even take him to work for the Seniors to see. He has gone on Harley rides with me, lots of places. There is a thread on the DIS discussion boards of PM and his friends adventures. Scroll down to Creative Disigns then there is a stickey of PM and friends. you will see lots of stories and great pictures that we have posted for the past two years. I have even been able to snag a picture of Chuckie sitting in the Pilot's seat on the airplane.

Right now Chuckie is getting excited about our next travel date----Mouse Fest Cruise and Land. So many days and so many outfits to get ready.

Most of the shoes from Build a Bear will fit. I will not use the Santa Boots again tho because they were too big. I have found a lot of cute shoes at Target. The pumpkin outfit I got at Target in the pet section!!!!! The raincoat that I have, I bought at A C Moore as well as some shoes. The Harley hat, I got at Pet Smart.

Pal Mickey-Yellow Lanyard

I got the original Pal Mickey for our '06 trip (I loved him, by the way, and can't wait to use him again! I know there are newer versions but I love my old one...). Anywho, he came with a yellow lanyard that I guess he's supposed to clip to, but I can't for the life of me figure out the lanyard configuration!! It has two different ends with Velcro, and no matter which way I set it up, it doesn't seem right.

I would be so grateful for any help (and if you can post a pic, AWESOME!).

Thanks!

Me too- I just got a HCOE Mickey from ebay with a yellow Lanyard and I too can not figure out the best way to connect the velcro ends it to make sense. Can anyone post a step by step or even better a step by step with a picture of the final end result. I'm going in a few months and this is my Mickey's first trip with me! HELP!
