| Does anyone (or their kids) like to collect those pressed coins? Our family is going to WDW in May, my 4 year old son's first visit. Since I know that he won't want autographs (chuck e cheese still scares him), I was thinking that collecting pressed pennies from around the parks would be fun for him. He could keep an eye out for the machines and then collect one, it would be a cheap and easy way to get something "new" a lot! And I guess there are books you can buy to put them in as well? It sounds like a cute and fun thing to do. Just wondering if anyone else likes it? Thanks! -Jaime |

| DD was 5 when we went last year and we made it a big deal. She loved it- She would get so excited when she saw the penny machines. They sell the books at most of the shops throughout Disney. Just watch out for the quarter machines. Disney does not sell a book (or they didn't when we were there last year) and they of course are more expensive. We accidently got a quarter thinking we could buy a book- after that we stuck to pennies and it was fun (she didn't know the difference). Have fun!

| Collecting pressed pennies is fun. You can get a list of machines from Guest services to help with the search and they do see a book to put them in. We've done this on two trips now. Try to take older pennies as newer ones have zinc in them. The design doesn't press as well and it will have a mottled gray color in the design.

| We all love collecting pressed pennies . We ended up with 68 on our first trip in Feb. and are going to try and fill another book in August. I believe we paid 6.50 for the book and I think it holds 64 pennies. Even our 2 year old wanted to have his own. Have fun hunting for the machines.

| We have a bunch, but are far from "avid" collectors of them... we're more into pin trading.

| My son loves to do this. He also loves looking at his collection at home. This also gives me the opportunity to empty my pockets of the loose change weighing me down.

| My family enjoys doing this. On my husbands first trip last year I put him in charge of the pressed penny machines. We had our Passporter list, and our M&M containers full of pennies and quarters. I had no idea how seriously he would take this job. He about drove me nuts, trying to find all the machines. Now he is looking forward to going in November again and trying to find the machines he missed. Again I will be waiting for him again!!! |

| My boyfriend (at our age it seems an odd term) makes jewelry. He aniels (sp) the pennies first so they imprint better.

| We've been doing it with DD (now 8) since she was 1 1/2. We do it on all our trips. We have about 5 penny books full. Disney usually does sell books for the pennies -- we have one and my SIL picked one up last time they were there.

| We have a bunch of them in one of those Disney books! I actually just recently took all of the pressed pennies I had and put them in Jeffrey's book (he had 3, I had about 15!). It's fun and not expensive ($.51 per pressed penny, so don't forget the quarters too!). I did bring pennies and quarters in M&M containers. Made it much easier than digging in your bag all the time.
