Size of Epcot

I am trying to explain the vast size of Epcot to my 83 year old grandparents before they visit. Does anyone know how long the walk is around World Showcase? Or, for that matter, any walking distance in Epcot? I can't find it anywhere.

It is approximately 2km, or 1.2 miles around the WS promenade. EPCOT is around 260 acres.

Not sure how accurate this is but I was told 2 miles from International gate way to front turnstiles.

Does that sound right?

It is big, but make sure they know that there are plenty of nice spots to stop, sit, and take in the view. Sometimes I will sit and people watch while my energetic family tours shops and such in a country.

How about using some of the distances in your PassPorter? On the map, they indicate roughly how long it takes to walk between places in each of the parks - that might help to explain it.

Thank you so much for all of your help. I used my PP and all of your input to come up with this:

* from the front gate/ticket center to first country in World Showcase (either Mexico on left or Canada on right) is about ten minutes of brisk walking

* From Mexico to Canada around the World Showcase is about twenty-three minutes of brisk walking (approximatley 1.2 miles)

* Epcot is roughly twice the size of Magic Kingdom, around 260 acres
