| DD ready for some coasters but... DD i s ready to try coasters but she does have some mild motion sickness i.e. bad headaches in car if trip is more than 30min, can't sit in the very back seat(in 3 row car), no reading in car, sits in front of bus on fieldtrips; give ibuprofen prior to car trip, helps usually - you get the idea; no puking though thank goodness. I have no motion issues so ? to those who may - can she handle EE and BTM? Any others you recommend? She's handled GBS, no problem. She's 10. TIA |

| EE will go backwards. So it doesn't matter if she sits in the front, she will be in the back. But it is a VERY smooth track with no sudden stops. I would give her the choice on that one. If she decides to ride, the middle of the train would probably be the best. Primeval Hurl is out. She'll have a major headache after that one. It will throw you around. Rock n' Roller Coaster - another steel track, very smooth, and can sit up front. But does go upside down 3 times. Big Thunder - has a sudden stop at the end, smooth track, but does jerk a bit. The front car is easier to handle than the back. I had a bad case of whiplash last year, and BTMRR never gave me any trouble. It really is a good track. Space Mountain - steel track, but can be jerky. She will have to ride by herself as they are 1 man cars. The left side is smoother than the right, the line splits at the end. Hope this helps!

| I know a couple of people that had a few problems with the backwards section in the dark part of EE, but it goes so quick they felt fine right away. I would think she'd be ok on BTMRR. None of the coasters at Disney bother me. I can't read in cars, and get motion sickness on some of the coasters at the local Six Flags. Now motion simulators, that's a different story. I steer clear of most of those and anything that spins a lot like the tea cups and Primeval Whirl. Soarin' I didn't have any problems with. You might want to avoid Mission Space or at the very least try the mild non-spinning one first. Last edited by Mares75; 08-20-2008 at 01:13 PM. |

| I was a "car sick" child but had no problems riding the coasters at 10 yrs old. Start small-BTMRR or even Goofy's barnstormer and go from there.

| I have motion sickness to at least the same level as your daughter and can go on roller coasters, including those that go upside down, with zero problems and zero ill feelings. I even go on Mission: SPACE original, though I do feel mildly ill for a bit after (would not be able to handle it two times in a row). Walking it off in the fresh air of the parks helps (as does not eating right before or right after).

| I, too, have motion sickness, but only when I'm enclosed usually (so cars, airplanes, not boats if I'm in the open air). So, once I've tried it once, I avoid the motion simulators (Star Tours, etc) and I tend to avoid the sharp, jerky rides (Primeval Whirl, Mulholland Madness at DCA) because they give me a headache. If that's a big thing for her (headaches) then you'll want to avoid those....

| I have the exact same problem as your dd and I LOVE coasters!! I never have a problem on BTMRR...EE on the other hand, the backwards part bothered me, but it was pretty quick. I love RnR too. I absolutely cannot handle motion simulators but Soarin is fine, aside from the one part where you're flying over a street of cars. I get a little funny too in the scene in Mickey's Philharmagic when Donald is on the magic carpet flying through Agrabah. I also have zero problems on Space Mountain

| I have some mild arthritis in my cervical spine which makes me prone to migraines so I have a hard time with rides that are very jerky, but have been trying to do one "big girl" ride each trip. I did BTMRR and SM last year and loved both. I agree that BTMRR is relatively smooth as far as coasters go. SM was jerky, but it didn't bother my neck too much. I don't like drops so I probably won't do EE. This trip I'm planning on trying RnR! I'm glad to hear that it's considered smooth!

| I suffer from motion sickness too. Bad. I take ginger root pills. They help alot. I love EE and BTM. When taking the ginger root I can accually ride those and Space Mountain. Without the ginger root I would be a mess. I usuallly take one before leaving for the parks and another half way through my day. You can get them in the vitamin section at Walmart. Good luck. |

| I should add that those 360-degree CircleVision movies make me motion sick, so your daughter may want to avoid them. Also, I have a friend who has an inner ear problem that she gets motion sick if she just spins around once. She takes Bonine when she's at Disney and it helps. She also doesn't go on the extreme rides like Mission: SPACE, but Tower of Terror is her favorite and she goes on rides like Thunder Mountain.
