Disney rewards meet & greet

Can someone tell me about the character meet&greet at EPCOT for Disney Rewards? I received a flyer with my Disney visa that talked about redeeming your points for rewards and that if you have a rewards card you can go to a special character meet&greet at EPCOT.
Thanks for the help

Hi, we did this in JUne of this year. It was at Innoventions (I BELIEVE East but double check this). It is right near the Segway Exhibit. You will see the sign, it is in a corner. The time was betweeen 130pm and 430pm and they are strict about the time. If you aren't in line BY 430pm you are turned away. The line had very few families but moved slowly for us. You MUST have your Visa card with you at the time to receive the voucher for the free 5 x 7. When we got into the area behind the curtain, Mickey and Pluto were waiting and happily posed for pictures. I felt like we were rushed but it could be because it was getting close to 430pm (we got in line around 345pm). My mom and I each had a credit card (with different numbers) so we got two pictures. It takes a good 30-60 minutes for the photos to be uploaded and for you to view them at the camera shop (can't recall the name) right near Spaceship earth. Then you can pick the one you like best and even add a border or enhancement and get the print for free.

PERSONALLY, I wouldn't do it again. The photo was printed off of a high quality photo printer but was not photograph quality. The characters are always among the fabulous five, but can really be seen in several spots. We had already seen them at Chef Mickey's so my kids weren't impressed. The photographer we had shot to shoot, he didn't try to get the best shot so there wasn't one picture where my kids were looking at the camera. I picked one to pick it because it was free. Having 20/20 hindsight, I'd have used the almost hour we spent doing it seeing something else (and we go to WDW annually).

the name of the camera center at epcot is the camera center.

from the definitive guide to photopass which everyone should read at Disney's PhotoPass - August 2008 :

Quote:
For Disney Visa cardholders, a special free private meet & greet is offered daily 1:30 - 4:30 pm at Epcot. Located in the Innoventions West building, just past the Where's The Fire? and Play It Safe exhibits is a curtained off area. Guests with card in hand may join the line for their own private meeting with 2 or 3 of the fab five. Not only will there be a Disney's PhotoPass photographer onhand to take as many photos as you wish, but each account (up to 2 accounts per family) is entitled to a free 5x7 print available later at the Camera Center. While each account is limited to one print a day, cardholders are free to visit multiple days of their vacation if they wish. Depending on the Cast Member at the Camera Center, many guests have reported to be able to receive a print of any Disney's PhotoPass photo instead of the Visa Meet & Greet photo, especially after expressing disinterest in the latter. This offer has been extended until at least 9/30/08. At Disneyland Resort, you can find the Disney Visa meet & greet operating for the first hour and a half of the park's opening in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area of Disney's California Adventure, by Monsters, Inc.

guess i beg to differ. i have done it several times and have gotten great pics each time from them. the quality of my prints was wonderful. i guess to each his or her own, right? i would definitely take advantage of it. for me, i didn't have to wait in line and was just thrilled to see the characters...i have taken friends with me and they have gotten such a kick out of it!

I thought it was a neat idea for Epcot. We didn't go in last Dec but looked in as we walked by and there didn't seem to be long lines...if they are still offering it this Dec I think we will give it a shot!

We had a great time with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy! We weren't rushed at all and the pictures were darling!

We also have had a great experience with it on the three occasions we have taken advantage of it. The first time we went there was no one in line so they did take more time with us than the second. But why we waited my DH took my DS over to the fire truck and drill station. He had a blast playing on it while I waited in line.

Also my experience...they were patient with us since we were the only ones and had an 8, 5 and 15 month old with us. We really enjoyed it.
They took 14 pics, as the characters greeted us, poses trying to catch them all cooperating at once and as we said goodbye. (I tried to attach a couple, but not sure if it will work)
It was Pluto & Mickey and the characters were very attentive to the kids. You can also add both borders and autographs at the camera shop (I'm pretty sure?), on the website, you can add one or the other yourself, but not both together on the same picture. They were also helpful when I was trying to decide which one to pick.

I would say if you go early, and there are lots of people, try again at a later time when you are back in the area and maybe there won't be so many.

We also enjoyed it! They ended up my favorite character pictures from our last trip in February. It was Mickey and Minnie in what I consider their classic outfits, which are my favorite, along with Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale!!

The line does move slowly but that is because it was SOOO not rushed once we got into the area behind the drapes. We got Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto last time and the photos from that shoot were the best of the trip (except for the CRT ones of course - haha). Seriously, the wait was a bit but only one of us had to stay in line to hold our place and the other went with the children to play so it wasn't that bad. The free 5x7 wasn't the big draw for us - it was the overall photo shoot that was so great (the 5x7 wasn't bad though).

We had a great time here in Sept. 2006 with our DD3. We hardly had a wait (only one family in front of us). We got to see Minnie and Goofy. When we got behind the curtain DD decided to be in one of here cranky states, I think we all know about that . She started crying and hiding her face in my shoulder. Goofy was great with her and got her to smile and get on the floor and dance with him. When we started to leave the CM said that if we wanted to get in line again we could see some new friends since Minnie and Goofy were about to take a break. There was only one family ahead of us again so we got in line again. This time we got to see Mickey, Donald, and Pluto. We ended up with about 35 pics on our photopass and we even got 2 certificates for free 5x7 pics. We loved it and plan to do it again this Dec. if they are still doing it.

We've done it a few times -- and have never waited more than 10 minutes (with one family in front of us.)

On our engagement trip, DW and I must have been in there at least 30 minutes with Minnie, Mickie, Pluto and Goofy... it was a BLAST!!

Needless to say, we bought the Photopass CD after that session, I think they took about 100 pics while we were there!!
