| Silly question, but I'm concerned... I have super long hair, abotu waist length by the time we go. I am worried about smacking people behind me on the rides. ( I'm sure they will appreciate it!) Most of the time it probably be ponytailed, or braided , but it still gets away.... LAst time, it was considerably shorter, and I was able it clip it, but there is too much of it now. I cannot remember what kind of space between you and the seat behind you. Obviously, I am mostly concerned with coasters and the like. If you have super long hair, how do you contain it? Am I worried for nothing? Is there plenty of room? I hope this isn't a silly question...... Thanks so much! |

| I used to have the same problem (my hair was 36" long at one point, when I was a teen). I would braid it and bring it around front or tuck it down the back of my shirt. I had an unfortunate incident on a roller coaster when I didn't put my hair up and it was under a tree. A piece of my hair flew up and caught on a branch and pulled out about a 5mm piece of my scalp I've been paranoid ever since, so do the braid/tuck thing.

| Yeah, I would be worried about your safety as well as others. My hair was longer and when I didn't braid it one time a patch of my hair was pulled out on a ride, not my scalp like Dawn's but it hurt.

| I've been to Disney with somebody who had hair longer than that and she had no problems. She kept her hair in a braided ponytail, which is how she kept it most days anyway. I've been to Disney and other parks with waist-length (or nearly there) hair in a ponytail and have had no problems.

| I'd find a way to keep it contained for your safety and the others. A braid would work well. Good luck! Eileen

| Keeping it up will help keep you cooler as it's hot and humid!(Plus that whole pulling your hair out by the scalp thing doesn't sound like fun... : )

| I used to have long hair, and would usually braid it (2 braids on the sides) or tie it up in a looped ponytail or bun on the rides, and had no problems.

| one of the reasons I keep my hair short... long hair is hotter, heavier, and more dangerous (more so than I realized good grief, GG!)

| at wdw you don't want long hair on your shoulders - believe me. it is hot enough there without your hair adding to the heat. so just put it up - generally put mind up on top of my head and believe me have enought hair for 3 people. that say - sometimes the plastic coated rubber band will break - it is under a lot of pressure. so go find some now that aren't too bad for you and won't hurt your hair - no uncovered rubber bands - and definitely bring extras. kept the extra with you at all time - just encase it breaks.
