| Hi Everyone, I need your advice. I think I get motion sickness and I would love to find something that would help. I have never dared to ride things like star tours and the like. I stick to the "kid friendly" rides. I even get that feeling when watching the movies in Canada and China. I am just dying to check out Soaring, but I don't want the head spinning, nausea, and general yuckiness that goes along with me & rides. I haven't tried motion sickness pills before for this, although I used Bonine on a cruise we took and that help a bit.Let's put it this way, I can even get a bit nauseaus driving on a winding country road! So any advice would be appreciated!!

| I don't know if it would work, but they have motion sickness bracelets that use your pressure points to prevent nausea. A woman I used to babysit for used them when she was pregnant with twins to prevent 'morning' sickness and they worked for her. This is a random example I found using Google Shopping and "motion sickness bracelet" as a search term: http://www.starmarinedepot.com/detai...duct_id=DA1305 I would imagine you can find them at drug stores and places like Target and Wal-Mart.

| You can try using Dramamine, it is over the counter. I helps with all those symptoms. I understand perfectly, I don't like those circlevision movies either. I have not been on soarin' only because I think my fear of heights would be too much on this attraction. Star Tours is not bad at all. If you are still not sure about riding it because of the motion, they can turn of the motion for you if you ask and they are not too busy. You may have to wait but it is an option. It can't hurt to ask. I hope you find something that works for you. ------------------- Kim

| Bonine and the motion sickness bracelets work pretty well together. I can do Soarin' but I can't do Star Tours. I prefer the bonine because the dramimine makes me drowsy and that's no way to do Disney.

| I get motion sickness too. BAD, and Soarin is my FAVORITE ride. Doesn't bother me at all!!! I can't even read street signs sometimes while driving the motion sickness gets to me that bad! Don't know if this will help or not... every one is different. Can you do a swing in a playground? I can sit on a gentle swing without being bothered - I think Soarin is more like a swing, but it is NOT a swinging motion.

| I think you need to weigh the pros and cons of trying a ride that may ruin your day. DH gets horrible motion sickness. I could list the theme parks we've been to where the day ended with, "DH sick in the trash can, laid on a bench until he could move again (could be hours) and then I had to drive all the way home with him moaning the whole time." It really ruins a trip! Last year we went to Busch Gardens in VA and he did NOT ride one single thing. He enjoyed the scenery, watching the kids on the rides and having great food. He people watched, relaxed and had a great day. It was our first theme park visit where he finally just gave up the idea of riding rides and we were all so thankful! So - for you - will it ruin the day - or just make you queasy for a little bit? Is it worth the risk?

| Hi All, I think the worst ride I've ever been on was the Back to the Future ride in Universal Studios. My DH didn't believe me when I told him I got sick, he thought I was chicken. Let me tell you, I went as green as the grinch, hugged a trash can, and found a bench to lie down on for about an hour and a half. He felt so bad, that he is now my ride "police" he tells me if it's okay for me or if I should pass. I love swings...but if I go to high I start to feel a wee bit sick...maybe I could ask for a lower row, and take the meds. To save the day, I might have hubby check it out first too. Thanks everyone!

| I have purchased a non-drowsy dramamine for two on our trip, a very motion sick cousin, and her 3 y-o niece. I also found the sea-bands( bracelets) at wal-mart. They were in the section with the dramamine. I will give one to each of them and see if it helps! good luck! |

| bonine works for me and I do have the little things that go on the wrist for the plane. I have not gotten sick and I get Vertigo real bad, one piece of advice on Soaring. I can not take the night scene with the lights from the building and stuff like that I just close my eyes for this part and that works for me. Good luck it is a great ride. Try to get the 1st row it is the best.

| If you choose to take Dramamine or Bonine defenitely have it in your system a day earlier. Then take it the day you hit the park. Also I have found Ginger pills have helped me tremendously. I do this when I cruise and I never have a problem. I sooo can relate to the motion sickness. Especially on winding roads. Have a great trip and good luck. |

| Due to inner ear problems of long standing, I have great sensitivity to motion or perceived motion, so I avoid some rides like Star Tours (my husband rode and advised against it). I do not seem to have problems on the Safari at AK or the riverboat at MK. The Carrousel can be iffy, but my son loves it. Dumbo is okay (look at the horizon not the ground) but I have to close my eyes in Philharmagic when they are flying through the town! Try generic Meclizine tablets which are available everywhere like Walmart, Target, etc. No need to buy the brand name ones (Bonine) which cost more. Start them at least a day before your trip. I take one every morning when we are at WDW to prevent problems. My doctor recently advised breaking the tablets in half and taking 1/2 every 8 hours to keep a constant level in my blood, but you should consult your own doctor on this. Ginger capsules are another effective aid against nausea from motion for many people. Buy them at your local health food store.
