A Stupid Monorail Question

I feel like this is a stupid question- I am confused about the monorail-- Where does it take you? It doesn't take you place to place within the parks ?

There are 3 monorail lines.

1 line goes counter-clockwise around Seven Seas Lagoon which goes from the TTC to Magic Kingdom.

1 line goes clockwise around Seven Seas Lagoon which goes from Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary to TTC to Poly to Grand Floridian

1 line goes from TTC to EPCOT

The one that goes to the MK only takes you to the front gates/turnstiles. I think the one in California acutally takes you around the park, but I'm not postive.

The monorail can be confusing. If you want to go from Magic Kingdom to Epcot you have to ride the one to the ticket and transportation center, get off and then get on the one to Epcot. It is a nice trip, just wish they had one running to all the parks, makes it a lot easier with a stroller and sleeping baby.

FYI, the one that takes you to Epcot does make a loop inside of Epcot around Spaceship Earth/Future World on the way there. It's a nice little preview before you exit the monorail.

I agree, it would really great to have a full system that would run amongst all the parks, but I won't hold my breath, that would be sooooo expensive for them to construct!

at disneyland, it's an attraction, which is why it requires a ticket to ride it.

at disney world, it's a form of transportation. a mile of track costs over a million dollars to produce.

At Disneyland the monorail only goes from Downtown Disney (the ex Disneyland hotel Station) to DL: Tomorrowland then back, plus the are a lot smaller. With this you have to have DL park tickets to get on board.

But the on a WDW is bigger to where you can stand in if you wanted to and like people said above there is three lines and I think there two or three on each lines. Also there no fee to board it and it is much more wheelchair friendly then the one here at DL.

Disney and guests usually refer to them as follows:

The one that goes from the TTC --> Magic Kingdom --> TTC is referred to as the "Express Monorail"

The one that goes from the TTC --> Poly --> Grand Floridian --> Magic Kingdom --> Contemporary --> TTC is referred to as the "Resort Monorail."

The one that goes from the TTC --> Epcot is referred to as the "Epcot Spur Line" or just the "Epcot monorail"

I agree it would be nice to have a monorail to each park but I have a feeling it won't ever happen as it would be super expensive.
