| For a first time visitor As I mentioned in a post about the Halloween party, I will be taking my 31 year old sister down to Disney for her first time in 14 days. I am used to going and I know my favorites there, so I tend to overlook things that a new visitor might appreciate. So tell me, what would you suggest she needs to see? What would you take your family members to see on their first trip? (I'm especially looking for tips on small things that the average guest doesn't know to look for/overlooks). Thanks! |

| I went through this question when my husband went for his first time 2 yrs ago. I obviously took him on all the main attractions. But we did alot of exploring. We went down side areas, gardens, and wandered around the resort as well. There are a bunch of quiet, peaceful gardens. Look where all the crowds are going. They don't tend to take the less travelled route. For instance, going the side walkways in the Japan and China pavillions. You can find hidden mickeys, benches, and other things not seen from the main walkways. The AK has lots of paths around the tree of life. It took 3 trips of ours to find them all. By just riding around (rent or bring own bikes if possible) my husband and I located the bike/walking path that goes from OKW to SS to DD. It goes past the Lake Buena Vista course, Treehouse Villas, and through a small nature walk at SS. Of don't know where your staying but many resorts have connecting walkways and nature paths. Very relaxing after hectic park hopping! Like I did with DH, I asked him what he wanted to do. I was suprised to find out that we both wanted to do the same things! Have fun! |

| Go slow, goto the major attractions, and veer off the beaten path, there is so much to see. Parades, fireworks, visit a few different resorts

| I agree with slowing down and just exploring the parks a bit, rather than racing from one attraction to another.

| My DH will be 31 when we go, and it too will be his first time. Also firsts for our 3 dd's. I plan to take it slow, look at the details of the parks/resorts. We will of course do attractions, but I wont be racing to get there in a hurry. |

| I agree, show off the little things that arent so well known amongst the average park goer....the well outside Indiana Jones, the raining umbrella at HS, PUSH the garbage can, the talking Goofy bench on Main St in MK, all the hidden Mickeys, the windows on Main St with the names of the Imagineers on them, if you go to Sci Fi the license plates are the Imagineers initials and birthdays....all the things that make the true Magic of Disney! Anyone can go and ride the rides, but a true Disneyphile appreciates all those fine details I can't wait until I get to share all of these things with a first time goer....I have been trying to get my mother & sister in law there for years now
