| Rain, rain, rain Well, we will be off for a fabulous time at the World in just a few more days....I have checked Accuweather, The Weather Channel, and Weather Underground websites and all forecast clouds with scattered showers(50-60% chance), isolated showers, or thunderstorms for EVERY DAY of our trip...so needless to say I am bummed about that Last edited by tinkfan75; 09-29-2008 at 12:27 PM. |

| Don't let the rain slow you down We were there for 5 days of heavy rain for TS Fay, and we just kept going out ![]() I'm not sure if they sell them at the resort, but I would definitely check there. They have two sizes for the Disney ones. Adult and Child. I think the Child might be a bit too big for a 2 YO, unless they are a bigger child. I've only seen the Disney ones, not the cheap ones you can find in Walmart or the Dollar store! ![]() Just because it says rain, doesn't mean that it will rain!! ![]()

| You can find ponchos almost EVERYWHERE. They are sold in the parks, at kiosks and at the hotels. The cost is $8.00 for a child and $11.00 for adults. The child size may be a bit big for your 2 year old, but it will definitely cover him/her completely. By the way, they are easily packable; they won't take up much space in your suitcase. Don't let the forecast get you down! We have dealt with everything from a shower, to a heavy thunderstorm to tropical rain from hurricanes. We just put on our ponchos and go.

| We got ponchos for .99 at Target and bought like 2 for each person in the family. We had the same forecast for our trip Sept 15 - 24th and it rained one afternoon and it was no big deal. Just don the ponchos and carry on! ![]() ![]()

| The weather forecast for central FL always says scattered showers. Bring ponchos for the afternoon showers and you'll be fine.

| You can get them at the resort gift shops as well as the parks. You might be better off getting at a local store before you leave - they're much cheaper than at WDW

| Don't be bummed about it....it's really minor. After living in central Florida for 13 years, I can tell you that scattered means scattered. Just watch the sky, bring a poncho, and try to be flexible with your scheduling. Most of the week, you probably won't have showers at all. If you do get one, it probably won't last long...do something indoors or have a nice indoor meal. As long as we don't blow up another hurricane or get a serious band of heavy rain going across the state, you'll be fine...really.

| I got cheap ponchos at Walmart but they do rip pretty easy so you might want to get a few extras. I only got adult ponchos and then put a raincover on the stroller (about $15 at Babies R Us). We were able to leave it on top of the sunshade on the stroller & then when it rained we just pulled it down. I will tell you before our trip I was so nervous about the rain but once we got there we had 3 rainfalls around dinner time. It actually worked out well for us because people left the parks and ate dinner & then were able to walk on to any ride we wanted. My son got to ride Space Mt 2 times in less than 1/2 hour.

| The rain ponchos are sold everywhere at WDW. But they are $$$$ - $7 when we were there in June/July this year. Unless you plan to keep them - which is what we have done - buy yours at Wal-Mart or a dollar store. A lot cheaper (but somewhat flimsier). The good thing about the cheaper ones is that they are lighter - so they are a bit more comfortable when wearing them in humid weather - a bit, still not great, |

| I hope that weather forecast is wrong, but don't worry if it does rain, you'll still have a magical time. ![]()

| Whenever we've gone to Disney World the prediction has always shown showers in the forecast. You might get an occasional clouburst but it will pass quickly and the sun will come back out. (if it's daytime of course) If you get wet, we probably will too, since we arrive a few days later. The Dollar store sells cheap ponchos, 2 for $1. If you want to shorten them for a 2 year old, just cut them off to the right length and you're set to go. They also have folding umbrellas for $1. Last edited by Dream Weaver; 09-30-2008 at 02:04 AM. | I bougth us all Ponchos at our local Menard store for about $3 each. Not the highest quality but not the cheap kind that sticks to your skin either. I rarely will be caught in the parks without our ponchos. Rain can come out of nowhere at Disney World, but it's not big deal if you're prepared. It does chase the crowds away and cool things off. A poncho can make the difference between running back to the hotel room cold, wet, and miserable, and forging ahead dry and comfortable!

| Everyone is correct, if there are showers, they are very scattered - and they could last only about 20 min, and then the sun will come back out
