ECV (scooter) rentals off site?

Hi. Has anyone ever rented an ecv from an off site company? My MIL is coming with us in Nov. and she definately wants to do Epcot and I am trying to convince that she should join us at the parks for at least a few days but the walking is an issue. The disney price is rather outrageous but I didn't know if any Passporter experts had tried others. Thanks for the feedback!

You will get quite a few responses to this. I know quite a few PP rent offsite.

Now while I didn't do it myself (we travel with my hubby's scooter) my mother's friend did it. In their case, the only problem was Paula (my mother's friend) I think expected my mother to do all the work for breaking down the scooter and getting it in and out of the car (they had a rental vehicle and didn't use the buses). Mom came home with an extremely sore back because of her stubborness - she should have spoken up and made Paula take care of her own scooter.

Okay, rant over about Paula. From all the posts I've read though, they've all been favorable to the offsite companies. I know Paula went with Buena Vista Scooter Rentals and I think there's a Walker Rental. I can't think of any other names though. Good luck and I don't think you'll regret going offsite.

If you check out MouseSavers.com - Disney Discount Source - Disney World Discounts, Disneyland Discounts, Disney Cruise Discounts they have a list of off site rentals. We have never done it, just rented from the park went to WDW three weeks after my wife's knee surgery, and they are expensive.

I rented two scooters from Walker in December. Everything was very effecient and the scooters worked great. I'm getting one scooter from Buena Vista for our trip next month -- just to compare. I was hesitant to use a scooter the first time, but now we just figure it into the budget. It makes my trips much more ejoyable and relaxed!

I have rented an ECV 2x from Walker, and have been very happy with them. The first time, we rented because my mom was having foot issues. The ECV was waiting for us at our resort when we checked in, and left it with the Bellmen when we left. It was very convenient.

The second time, I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle the day before we were to leave. I was able to order the ECV on short notice. Once again, the ECV was waiting for me when I checked in. Unfortunately, I checked in during the middle of the night, due to flight delays, so I waited till the am to get the ECV. When the Bellman brought it up, he mentioned that he though it had a flat tire, and had called to get me a replacement. Walker got me a new ECV later that morning - I was very pleased with their service.

Although I've never rented one, I've seen a lot of scooters that were rented from Buena Vista Rentals in the parks, so they must be popular.

We used Scootarama in December and it was great. Breaking it down to get in / out of the car is very easy. They deliver and pick up right from the hotel
