Official Dates for Xmas Parade taping

Hopefully this hasn't already been posted.

I just got a notification from ALLEars on Facebook, and it says the Christmas Parade will be taped Dec. 3, 4, AND 5th. Here's the link the notification gave: Online Registration

I was glad that we were leaving on the 5th (Saturday), so I thought we would be missing it. Now I'm very worried - our trip is only 5 days anyway, that sounds like it will really cut down on some of our MK time. Should I be worried about the crowds?

Thanks for the information as we are going to be down at Disney during this time. I'm going to have to check and see if we are going to MK during the taping. I believe we have an ADR for Crystal Palace on the 3rd.

As long as you stay away from Main Street, you should be okay in MK!

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping! Is there a way to get around Main Street when this is going on, since it seems as if all the crowding will only be there? Should we just take the train around to Toontown or something? Or are we going to have to try to duck through the shops? (I'd rather not do that! LOL)

I heard that they open up an alleyway behind the shops on one side of main street so you can by-pass all of the taping hoopla. I hope that's the case!

I will be there that exact same time and leaving on the 5th. We have reservations CP at 8:50 so hopefully we can bypass the crowds and spend a little time in the park before we head back to our hotel.

I'm trying to figure out when I want to do my Dec. solo trip next year. I wonder if they'll be taping a 3rd day then too.

Since I would only be there for 4 or 5 days, I'd hate for 3 of them to have the parade taping. I like to be able to walk down the middle of main street and see the castle.

Going later in the month would cause problems with my kids school stuff. That's when they do concerts and stuff and DH is very seldom available to deal with those.
Oh well, I guess time will tell. It's better to be prepared for it than show up and be surprised and annoyed.

Thanks for the info.

for that info. We'll be there the same time, arriving on 11/29 and headed back home on 12/5. Guess we'll get MK done on the 30th, 1st and 2nd, and probably avoid the park for the taping times/days except for MVMCP on the 1st (haven't got tickets yet, but that's the day we're looking for).

We were there a couple of years ago during the taping and Main Street all the way to the castle was jammed packed. They did open the alleyway behind the shops on the east side (bakery side) so you could enter the parks and scoot through there, coming out by the restrooms near the Noodle Station and from there you can go straight to Tomorrow Land, or circle around behind the castle to get to Toon Town, Fantasy Land and the rest of MK.

Normally, the taping for the Christmas Parade is the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in December every year.....

Will be there they same time too. Was planning on going 12/3 too.
Does anyone have any thoughts/guesses on how they think sunday 11/29, will be crowd wise? I was trying to stay away from MK that day thinking it will still be crowded from thanksgiving?

Most of the Thanksgiving crowd has already checked out by Sunday. That's when we usually go - the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, we're going to DLR instead. I will miss Illuminations and CP
