Pick a single WDW park

We're going to do some volunteering and participate in the Give A Day, Get A Disney Day promotion. Originally, I was all set to go to MK, but 2 of the things I was really counting on there are going to be closed. Now, I'm torn on which park to visit (the voucher is strictly for a one day, one park ticket). There are at least 2-3 things in each park that we've never done or haven't done in years. Everytime I settle on a new one, I get heartsick about something I'll miss at another (I know I need to stop thinking about it that way ). And, yes, we will literally only be there the one day.

How would you go about deciding this? List attractions and rate them? Pick the one w/ the longest hours that day? Draw a name outta a hat?

Oh, that's like someone asking to pick a favorite child! I don't know if I could pick just one park. Maybe go for the park with the longest hours, with evening EMH.
One time we were in Florida and went to WDW while there for a mini fix! We had to pick 2 parks, and our choice was MK and AK.

I'd pick either MK or HS as those are my 2 favorite parks

what attractions will be closed at MK?

I'd choose MK or EPCOT

who all are "we" and what is it about Disney that you enjoy most (strictly park speaking here)

Crystal Palace & Splash Mountain are closed. I was REALLY counting on CP and dining with my Pooh friends
"We" are me and DH.
And that last question, well, the list is endless & what has gotten me into this neurotic mess in the first place ... between park "feel", experiences, attractions, & dining ... I just want them all. We've only done longer trips before & never had this dilemma.
I should also add that, although we're cruising next summer, this day will be our last time at WDW for probably a couple of years at least.

We faced the same dilemma! We were only going to be there for one day, and we weren't willing to pay for park hoppers. So, I asked the kids if they could only choose one park which would it be..... and shock of all shocks, they agreed!! DD(14) loves the big rides and DS(10) loves shows, so DHS it was! Everybody was happy (even DH).

I would definitely see which park has the longest hours that day, because that would be important to consider. If I only had one day, I'd probably do Epcot. I love Illuminations, the live entertainment in the WS, the restaurants, and some of the FW rides are among my favorites! MK would be a close second.

Good luck deciding!

If I could only go to one park, it would be Magic Kingdom. Here's why:

* The parades. I'd try to go on a day that has SpectroMagic, so I could enjoy both parades plus Wishes.
* The stage show. I love watching it.
* Crystal Palace (yum)
* The rides
* The character meet and greet opportunities

I LOVE LOVE LOVE EPCOT so that would be my second choice, but MK definitely wins for all the above reasons.

then with all of that I'd still do Magic Kingdom... granted you won't have a character meal, but you can eat at LTT and get that Magic feel...

second choice would still be Epcot... that could actually be a great romantic day... especially walking around the Lagoon after dark.

Difficult one. I think hours would be important to maximise your time in the park, that's how I'd work it to begin with. Personally, we'd always go for Epcot, it's our favourite. There's just something very magical about wandering around World Showcase and as for IllumiNations, our favourite by miles.

We had one day/one park tickets before our cruise (that came from a free dining package back in 2006). We chose MK. Even though Space and TTA were down, there were still enough things that we wanted to do (BTMRR, SPlash, the new Hall of Presidents, and the kids finally rode HM)!

The volunteering starts in Jan right? I'm not sure which park i'd choose. Actually, I know I would choose the FastPass option. Maybe Magic Kingdom cause of all the rides there!
