| Mission: Space -- which one? I've started pulling together things to be packed (like sunblock, Glide, the photographer's vest someone on these boards suggested and, of course, Ziploc bags), confirmed everything, and am getting ready to head off to Florida after ten months' planning and anticipation. One question, though, remains: which version of Mission: Space should I try? I usually have no problem at all with motion sickness: I've even done our Space Mountain right after a large dinner. The one teensy proviso is that, last week, I sort of overdid it a bit on the Teacups -- although that's because I was foolish enough to keep looking up. Even that didn't make me sick, just the slightest bit woozy for a while. That, however, didn't stop me from going to have a large dinner an hour later. I think that makes me a candidate for the spinning version, right? The books (of which I've read too many) make me a little nervous, though: I don't want ride the ride then go and throw up my continental breakfast on the dolphins when I visit with them. Thanks for the advice. I won't hold the "wrong" answer against anyone.

| Well, I will say that I absolutely had a moment of "Oh crap. What did I get myself into?" on the orange version. But, I've never actually gotten sick and they give you the tip of looking directly at the screen in front of you, not looking at your surroundings and that really seems to help when you start to feel it. The green version...just not that exciting to me. So, it's a judgement call. I get a little dizzy on the teacups...and honestly, I think I hold up a little bit better on Mission: Space. Maybe try the green and if you think you can handle more, go for it? |

| The spinning version is a great ride, the best at WDW imho. I rode it 6x in a row when it first opened (went on the single rider line, and back then a lot of people tooked the "chicken exits' so i just breezed on) and didn't get sick or anything. By the 3rd time, the CM at the entrance knew me. The non-spinning version is like watching a video in a telephone booth

| If you are going to ride the orange version the follow their instructions to the letter. Look at the screen at all times. Do not look away, close your eyes or turn your head, if you do, you will immediately feel the spinning. It has something to do with your inner ear and your equilibrium. If you follow the instructions and do exactly as they tell you, you'll be fine.

| Our family (7 adults) went on the orange version. I think we all tried to follow the instructions, because they are posted at least half a dozen times throughout your journey onto the ride! We all came out with varying degrees of dizziness/queeziness. Not real bad, but a little jostled up. |

| I've done both versions, the orange - more intense version only gets to me a little bit when you first take off, but other than that not bad at all. Now the green version I like because you can actually look around and seeing what is really going on in your space capsule.

| The first, and only, time DH and I rode the orange version, we'd had just come from a day of enjoying the libations around WS, specifically the margartias in Mexico! So, I'll bet that had something to do with the lightheadedness we felt once we got off. However, DH was "dizzier" and it lasted awhile. So we have never been back... That is until this last trip last month. This time we did the green side and I will admit I was panicking but when they closed the door, I looked down towards my feet since there is more room down there, as I think the claustrophia sets in too. But once the ride started it was so much fun! You get the ride experience, you just don't get that G-force/pushing down on your chest feeling. That's the part I hate the most! But you can always try both sides and see which one is best for you...albeit you do so before any big meals!

| I find that spinning doesn't bother me at all as long as I am hydrated. If I'm hot and thirsty then I feel it. Good luck, you'll be fine with the orange. Have a GREAT vacation.

| I haven't ridden either side of MS (nor will I ever due to claustrophobia), but I hear are some things I've picked up on from my friends who have ridden. According to them, it seems that if you can ride all kinds of roller coasters with no ill effects, you are basically good to go. They seem to say the g-force is more of a significant feeling, like a roller coaster, instead of the spinning in a circle feeling, like the tea cups. In fact, one of my friends CANNOT ride the tea cups without serious problems, but loves MS. So, I wouldn't necessarily let the tea cup issue make you shy away from the orange side. I guess if I were in your position (and not terrified of the small space

| I agree with following the instructions to the letter if you go for the orange version. I found it OK, although I was a little woozy when I came off it. I now do the green version (that wasn't in place when I first rode Mission Space), so that I know I'll be fine.

| I've done the Orange side once. That was plenty for me and DH (we were a bit green about the gills for about 15 minutes afterward). Kids loved it. I just don't have a good equilibrium any more so spinny things are a problem for me. I'm stuck with the Green side from now on.....and I enjoy it. Sounds like, to me, that you could do the Orange side without problem. I think it's worth a try...as it really does give a different sensation with the spinning.

| I did both, didn't have a choice when I first rode it, only had orange. I found that after riding Orange, Green just didn't have the same impact for me, so Orange is the only way to go. But Orange isn't for everyone. If you're not sure, ride Green first then you can give Orange a try if you want but if not then at least you know you're happy with Green.
