MGM?? Studios? How come Disney MGM Studios is sometimes called The Disney Studios? My travel DVD from Disney says Studios, but i've seen other Disney stuff that says MGM? What's the plan with that? Thanks!

Re: MGM?? Studios? I believe the contract or something with MGM is up. Disney wanted their name strictly on it. I may be wrong, I still call it MGM though, just too much to say "Disney Studios" Hopefully someone else will know the for sure answer!

Re: MGM?? Studios? There has not been a name change, and as far as I know, the contract with MGM is an old issue (renewed, as far as I know, and it's not so much about the name of the park as it is about the use of characters, film clips, etc. in places like the Great Movie Ride). Why do people just say, "MGM" or "Studios?" "Disney-MGM Studios" is eight syllables long. Say it five times fast, without stopping. Disney buses say "Studios" - not room for the long version. Officially, WDW is "Walt Disney World Resort." So howcome even Disney-produced videos sometimes say, "Disney World?" No conspiracy, no hidden meaning. Just easier to say (and wouldn't it sound stupid if the announcer had to say "Walt Disney World Resort" every time?) Didn't Mom only use your first, middle and last name when she was angry with you?
