Disney Gift Cards

I had heard about these and I saw them for the first time this morning in the Food and Fun Center while getting breakfast. (They were to start today-8/1). The CM's say they can be used anywhere in the world! I think this would be a great way to save up for trips! When you have some extra money put aside, purchase a WDW gift card! They are blue with Mickey on them.

That's a great idea, and a used-up one could make a great memento.

Re: Disney Gift Cards

I thinks this is a great idea. Maybe I should get them for DD and DS for Christmas, since we will be there and they can get what they want. Thanks for letting us know, Dianne.

Re: Disney Gift Cards

I don't think you can get them at the DS. There was a blurb about them in the Mickey Monitor. I would say you could probably call WDW shopping service and maybe order one and have it send to you. They are re-loadable, like the ones at WalMart.

Re: Disney Gift Cards

I can wait to get this. I teach figure skating lessons and many of my students pay me in cash which I have been saving all summer so I don't add to my credit card bills. With this I can put it on a card instead of carrying around hundreds of dollars in cash , I can do this now.

Re: Disney Gift Cards

This is such a good idea, but I wonder if they deduct fees after a certain amount of time... hmmm I guess I'm going to have to do some research... It would be great to put in Christmas Stockings!

Re: Disney Gift Cards

You can keep putting money on the card, up to 1500 dollars. This is what was in the Mouse For Less e-newsletter:

Beyond Disney Dollars: New Disney Gift Cards
New Walt Disney World Shopping & Dining Gift Cards are scheduled to debut this month. Guests will be able to purchase and use the cards at select merchandise and food-and-beverage locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. The card's value is determined upon purchase, and can start as low as $5 and go as high as $1500! Additional dollar amounts may be added to the card later.

HTH!
