goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements Crazy question here. I read in the 2006 passporter that the height requirement was 35" and I also read that in another book. however passporter also says there is an age limit of 3. My DD is 2 1/2 and I think she would LOVE it. She is 37" Do they actually ask that the child be a certain age in addition to the height requirement?

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements I do believe it is 3 years old and 35 inches tall. If she looks much younger than 3, they may take issue with it, but if she looks at least 3 years old, they probably won't flinch! I can't be positive though because our DD didn't even hit 35 inches until she was a little over 3 1/2!

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements I'm surprised to hear there is an age minimum. DS rode it at 2 (he had just turned 2 on our trip) and again at 2 1/2. He was measured at the door on his first ride, but after that no one looked at him twice. He rode it quite a few times on both trips - simply loved it.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think that every (or many) CM enforces the age restriction, but I know I have seen a few youngish kids (even being at the height limit) being turned away when they were asked how old they were and the parents were offered a "Child Swap" pass if they wanted to ride. I know it does say in the PassPorter (pg. 134) "Minimum Age is 3". I think it just doesn't get enforced too much, unless your child looks real young (or if they ask how old the kid is and the truth comes out ) |

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements I would think as long as your child is tall enough, can sit in the seat with you with no problems and understands that he needs to remain in the car with the lap bar pulled down, it should be okay. The age restriction is probably just a guideline as normally, a child under 3 might not know to hold on to the lap bar or that they have to remain seated for the entire ride. I know I take my DD to Storyland and they have all sorts of guidelines for height and ages and things like that. But they do also caution that parents also need to take into account the mental ability of the kids. My DD is Autistic, almost 6 years old and 51 or so inches tall. There are some rides that I know she still can't ride by herself even though she has the age and the height. It will be interesting when we go to Disney this August, but for rides like Barnstormer, as long as I can ride with her, it's not an issue for me. I'm going to have fun with my DD, so anything I can go on with her is a bonus to me, even though I am still watching out for her safety.

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements [ QUOTE ] I looked on Disney's web site, and it didn't mention an age limit just a height limit. [/ QUOTE ] It isn't posted on the Disney website but is listed in the PassPorter as well as on MousePlanet, HiddenMickeys.org, WDWPlanner.com and AllEarsNet among other sites.

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements I'm pretty sure that only the height restriction is enforced. If your daughter meets the requirement and you know that she'll like it, you shouldn't have a problem

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements My dd just made the height requirement and was 2 years and 9 months when we went in Dec. No one asked us at all when we went on Barnsormer. There wasn't even anyone at the front checking heights. We checked her ourselves and then got in line.

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements The signs at the attraction state the age requirement. I'm not surprised that Disney's site doesn't mention it. There are many details they don't cover at the site, maybe because they don't have a message board where folks can ask questions. The posted sign is what's important, not the web site. They're not going to actively ask people, "Are you pregnant? Do you have a heart condition? Are you over 3 years old?" but for the sake of public safety (and Disney's insurance premiums), it's necessary to post these warnings. I can't say for certain why there's an age restriction, but for whatever reason, they think it's prudent. That's a pretty good hint in my book.

Re: goofy\'s barnstormer height/age requirements I don't understand why any ride would have an age restiction. Height I understand, physical condition I understand, but age escapes me. Can anybody shed some light here?
